Got the gray bar up but can't get the print head assembly with the cartridges in it out. Any suggestions?

  • hannahsgran Jun 02, 2010

It just will NOT come out! I've tried pinching, prying, lifting, and twisting. It won't budge.

Point 3 on your suggested method does not work. It's not possible to remove the printhead assembly with the cartridges in it. You have to unclip the cartridges and then the printhead can be removed easily.
Anyway regardless, none of it worked, so thanks for the useless information.

(1) With the printer turned on, unplug it
(2)Open the top and bring the ink cartridge holder to the middle
(3)Raise the gray bar and remove the print head assembly with the cartridges in it
(4) Lower the gray bar with the head missing and close the top with the head out
(5) Restore the power, wait til the printer wakes up
(6) It will tell you to put in the cartridges
(7) Restore the print head, close the top and the printer should resume working.....
it is a printer head error and some solved it that way ..after you do that it will resume the function and work ..

My printer canon mx700 has error 5200, what I have to do to fix it. Thanks.

This is a printhead overheat error but both the printhead and main logic board should be changed together and it would cost over 3/4 of the price of a new machine. So i would buy another machine rather than go for a repair.

What does 6A60 error message indicate and how do I resolve on my Canon MX700 all in one machine.

6A60 error is an APP (Application Printer) position error. It means that an error has occurred when the motor was running during the purging operation on start up.Check the sheet feeder and purge unit.Sometimes pieces of paper stuck in purge unit.

MX700 ERROR 6A80

Hi,

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Error 6A80 – means “AP position error”- indicates that "an error occurred in the APP motor during purging operation". Either the sheet feed unit, purge unit, or logic board could be at fault.

I'd recommend bringing the unit into your local canon authorized service facility for complete diagnostic and repair.

Hope this helps

Error code 5100

5100 means either there is paper stopping the carriage from moving properly, or there is grease on the plastic strip behind the carriage. If you wipe off the grease with a Q-tip the error will go away.

MX700 Canon Printer

Normal 0 This doesn’t help fix all printers because each situation is different and in most cases we don’t have enough information to determine the fix. So hope this will provide some help.

Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
