How to replace the cranking pull cord?

Ok, the spring will more than likely unravel when you remove the pull cord cover/assembly. There is notch in the spool for winding the rope around it. So make sure the spring is wound enough to fit it in the housing. Then take the rope, already knotted and in the spool. Turn the spool in the direction that tightens the spring.Push down on spool and allow spring to retract the rope. (Don't forget to tie the knot in the rope handle before placing on mower). Then lightly clamp in vise or visegrip, or channel lock pliers. I like to use visegrips on one side, and channel locks on the other. Place over the square flywheel nut, release channelock pliers, hold with fingers tightly so the spring does not unravel. Then release visegrips and hold with other free hand, Place over flywheel nut and slide down. Re-attach with screw previously removed. Your done. Don't forget to tie the knot in the rope handle before placing on mower.

The gator mount became stuck in the down position with the motor deployed into the water. The release rope would not release the lock to return the motor to the storage position so that I could operate...

mos minn kota motors have a pin that is spring load to lock when the motor is deployed. when you pull on the rope to lift the motor the pin is pulled forward to release and allow you to lift motor. sometimes it is necessary to put some pressure on the motor as if you were trying to push it farther in the water as you are putting this pressure on the motor pull on the rope to release the motor be very careful to avoid getting your hands or fingers in the way. when you get the motor up be sure to put a small amount of grease on the ends of the pin to prevent this from happening again.

I turned my garage door opener off and went to manual yesterday because the power was off in our community . Since i have done this i cannot switch it back. It is a Chamberlain-3220. Can anyone tell me how...

I think by going to manual you must mean you released the door from the opener by pulling down on the rope. The release on newer openers locks in the released position so the two halves of the trolley will not snap together. To unlock this pull straight down on the rope and release. By running the opener or sometimes by manually moving the door you can get the two halves to snap back together.

STARTING ROPE BROKE AND UNABLE TO START MOWER

Hi,,,,replaceing the rope is easy, just takes sometime. first, take the cover off the engine. turn the cover over and rope pully should be right there. Measure out 8 foot of new rope. burn both ends of rope so it don't fray. get all of the old rope off the pully. here is where an extra pair of hands come in handy. by hand rotate the rope pulley 6 revolutions, now have someone hold the pulley, then feed rope thru the cover and thru the pulley rope opening, then tie a knot in that end, now slowly release the rope and it will wind itself onto pulley, now put rope thru the handle and tie knot, now put back togeather and go mow your lawn,,,lol

It sounds like the pump is seized. Make sure any pressure has been released by pulling the trigger on the gun. Sometimes this will allow you pull the cord. If the pump is seized, a new pump would be in order.

How do I replace the pull rope on a Talon Eagle Classic whipper snipper? I have tried but am unable to recoil the spring thing.

This can be very tricky.

You have to turn the assembly clockwise to put tension on the spring and hold it in this position while you attach the new rope. Then release the tension and let the spring release pull the rope back into the assembly.

DO NOT let the spring get out of the cavity in which it fits. Getting these things back where they belong can be a real headache.
