I don't know if you have checked this yet but it is very common to find a sock has made its way to the inlet side of the water pump. It happens more than you can imagine.
Simple to check by rolling the washing machine on to its side and taking the pipe to the pump off.

How do you ascertain if its drain pump or faulty controller board causing a fault 37 on a gw612?

Read the answer in the link below first, but in your case it can also be a faulty or blocked diverter valve. If you are good with a multimeter check the resistance of the pump windings. It should read around 33 ohms. It is not uncommon for the pumps to cook themselves and you can smell and see the burned out motor. I hope this is of some help

Washer agitates but will not spin. Burning smell coming from motor

The water pump could be stuck, or broken so the pulley on the pump is not spinning, while the belt is, which gives you the burning smell. Could also mean the motor is overheating giving you the burning smell. You will have to open the back and observe whats happening while its running. Just keep your hands clear while its working.

Hi My F&P washer has been doing a error 51 for a couple of weeks, havent had a chance to get someone to kook at it, I stop it and restart it and it washes all the way through the cycle only did this on...

Error code 37 indicates a blocked or not working drain pump but the slight burning smell likely indicates a burned out drain pump motor. Do not use the machine unless the drain pump problem is addressed as it will result in the damage of the motor controller module. It has been found that electrical problem in the drain pump motor leads to the burning out of the motor controller module.

Error code 51 indicates a blocked or damaged diverter valve. It is where the drain pump and the recirculation pump inlet hoses are attached from. It works in directing (diverting) water to the recirculation pump during the wash stage and to the drain pump during the drain and spin stages. Cycle runs but dishes are still dirty. No water.

Sounds like an inlet valve. If there is no water in the pump when it runs you can burn up the rubber seals. After fixing the fill problem you should check underneath for any leaks.

Wahser stopped after wash cycle, burning smell

Hi, it is possible that something got into the pump and stopped it from turning. Let the drain hose down so that it drains into a bucket or a floor drain if possible.
If water does not drain then it is deffinetly plugged. Once you get the water out of the washer, tip it against the wall and try to remove the pump off the motor. There are two clips that hold the pump on. You will also need to remove the hoses.
With the pump off, you can set the washer back down and try to run the spin cycle. If the motor runs, it must be the pump.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
Vic

Washer doesn't agitate.

Hi Karen,
It is not normal to smell a burning smell after a new coupler install. If the pump is not held on the motor with two clamps then it will raise off of the motor and strip the pump. This would cause the burning smell and also cause you to need a new pump. Before you use it again install the second pump clamp. If you cant find it let me know and we can ship you one over. GE Potscrubber Disshwasher GSD700G, wont cycle

Most washers do not fill they spray the dishes. When enough water has accumulated in the bottom a float switch shuts off the water and turns on the pump to remove the water. If the pump motor does not remove the water the cycle will not continue but the timer will. There may be something clogging the pump and resulting in an overload condition for the motor. This would account for the smell. A pump may turn freely when you spin it by hand because you cannot spin it fast enough by hand to determine if the pump is obstructed. Does the cycle drain the water? If the cycle stops and there is water in the bottom not being pumped out then you should look at the pump and the motor to determine problem.

Maytag Neptune on/off button wont stay on

You have to investigate where the burning smell came from. Start at the timer and then check the main board. Also check the drain pump.

Drain pump starts and stops prior to final spin cycle

Jayron, is the motor jogging? start to spin, stop, start to spin stop. If so, your motor is jogging between the high and low start windings. The motor during spin should start on the high speed windings and stay there until most of the water is drained. GE came out with a new motor, harness and run cap because of this. If you have a meter, there should be a white and white/red wire going to the motor. If you have a steady 120V and it's doing this jogging, replace the motor with the kit...Let me know if this the issue, Catriver..post back.
