Sound Hi. My sound quit working on my laptop. It is not muted. When I go to device properties it says all are working properly. What else do I try? No sound is playing (start up, shut down, cd's, dvd's, or music/sound over the internet.)

Try this....

Locate the volume knob (toshiba laptops normally has this volume know located on the side of the laptop). Make sure it turned on. and see what happens. Even if the sound icon in the taskbar is turned up but if this knob is not then there would be no sound at all. I am assuming that your drivers are good since you said in the device manager that all are working properly.

hope i was able to help

My hp elitebook 530 is epoting no internal speakers and will not use any outside speakers

Check your volume controls and make sure you have them turned up and not on mute. Check your audio and sound devices in the device manager to make sure they are all working properly.

You can right click on the megaphone at the bottom right near the time to adjust the volume and audio properties.

You can also click Start/Control Panel and look for Sound and Audio devices to make sure the volume is up and not muted.

I cant get sound to work on compaq eve n610c

Check the drivers in the device manager to make sure you don't have an issue with the sound devices.

Check the Audio/Sound properties to make sure you have the volume turned up and not muted. Check both the audio/sound properties and also on your laptop make sure you have the volume turned up and not muted.

If you see the megaphone at the bottom right near the time right click on it and select properties.

Sound drivre are note work in pc

Go to the device manager and check that the device is enabled: start>control panel>hardware and sound>device manager. Look for video and sound controllers and expand the menu. Find the sound adapter, right click and click properties. The general tab will tell you if the device is working properly. You can got to the driver tab and choose update driver and then search automatically for updated software.
Seems obvious, but check that the sound isn't muted, as well.

Sound nt working

It could possibly be that your computer is stuck on mute, go into the control panel and under sounds and mics you will be able to tell if it is stuck on mute or not, however if it is not stuck on mute then you will want to go to the manufactures website and under support and drivers enter in your computers model number and you will be able to download the drivers from that location. Let me know if this helps, Jeff from fixya

Hi my mic is not working I've tried adjusting it to the control panel and sound device still it doesnt work, netbook is Hanspree. Thanks

Hi,

If the microphone is not working but you are getting sound from the computer, check microphone in sound properties to see if it is muted or disabled. If it is not, just install an updated driver for your audio device and it should work.

Hope this helps.

The sound is quit on my dell inspiron laptop

Did you connect any external speakers or headphones? Maybe USB sound card or USB headphones? In case not then do the following.

Go to start->control panel->device manager. Expand Sound Video and Game controllers. Right click on sigmatel/realtek high definition audio and select uninstall. Then restart your notebook. Driver will be reinstalled automatically.

MAke sure to check sound volume levels : Go to start->Control panel->Sound. Playback and adjust levels.

No sound on laptop

Try:
1. Check if the sound is on mute.
2. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter. Check if the sound driver is not installed or has been disabled.
3. Check the speakers. Use external headphones, if the headphones are working properly, means the speakers of Laptop are damaged.

The sound stops on my lap top

It sounds like the drivers were uninstalled. If you uninstall the devices in device manager that are in alarm XP will try to reinstall them when you reboot, sometimes it will just reinstall them on it's own, but you will probably need to have the drivers handy.
