Hi I have a sony DV-220 KV only three weeks old. We had a party on Saterday and the dvd tray was open when it got pumped of from the top to the bottom on the floor. The tray where the dvd fits into broke...

Unfortunately accidents happen, and assuming you had a warranty on this item, it isn't covered against 'accidental damage' - an authorised service centre may be able to replace the broken tray/mechanism - but it will cost you - because the accident (bumped or dropped) isn't covered under manufacturer's warranty. You may be told by the workshop to simply buy a new player and a lecture about being more careful, etc.

From my experience with damage of this calibre, because the unit is not a recorder, I find that it's cheaper and easier in the long term to simply buy a new one rather than pay repair costs on the old(er) one, and more often than not, spare parts just aren't available. It wouldn't be economical in your case to get this fixed.

I bought a sony marine amp from Boaters world. It came with 1 year warranty I bought 2 year extended warranty. Amp is 10 months old and broken. boaters world is out of bussinees. Who can I return to?

Since the unit is less than one year old, Sony should repair it under warranty. Also, check the extended warranty parperwork. Normally the seller does not provide the actual warranty, they contract with a service company. That company should still be around. If you are not successful with Sony, please post the exact problem and model number and we'll try to get you up and running.

DVD player skips and freezes

you have a defective dvd player. if it is only 3 months old take it back in exchange or repair under warranty. it all depends whom you purchased the item from. you could try running a cleaning disk, but chances are the players needs to be repaired, or replaced. Don't be surprised, i've bougth several in the last couple of years, two i had to take back the same day and exchange them. All of these electronics are made so cheap, it takes two or three units to get one good one. Try to stay away from RCA, Panasonic, and LiteOn.

Every time I insert a disc into my DVD player it says insert disc

If you give me the make and model I can try and assist you further. If the unit is under a year old I would have it repaired under the manufacturer warranty. If not you will most likely want to consider replacement. As dvd players are pretty inexpensive, where as shipping and repair charges can get more expensive then replacement quite easily.
Thank you,

Cd/dvd player only able to play dvd's

Get a hold of your manufacturer and verify the warranty on your cd/dvd player. I do know that if the cd's are not finalized then cd/dvd players will not be able to read them. If under warranty your manufacturer can replace it or troubleshoot the problem with you over the phone.
