Installed macally icemouse and it seems to work fine but I keep getting this message: System Extension Cannot Be Used: The system extension "System/Library/Extensions/MacallyMouse.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact the product's vendor for an update. I have an iMac G3 running system 10.4.11. Is this message to be ignored,or is there a real problem? After one day, mouse seems to operate fine. Thanks....... David 760-634-2218

Can't open download files

1) the original files are corrupt
2) the original files are encrypted
3) the downloaded files are corrupt
4) the downloaded files require being unzipped and you have no "unzipper" installed such as 7 Zip.
5) the downloaded files, if already unzipped, have no program assigned to read their specific format

Just what operating system were the files originally created upon and what software was used to create them? IF you don't know, try the followsing:

Determine their file type (their extension, such as .pdf, .doc, .jpg, etc.. Google "how to open "fill in" files (the file type). Try installing a program that reads that extension. If you already have one, try opening the file with a double click and when it asks for which program to use to open it, then pick the one already installed that your research says will open it.

It seems unlikely all the files would be corrupt. It is more likely that you do not presently have a program that can open that file type. You may have to convert the file type into another type of file for which you have software that can open it. Generally, there is freeware available that can open most file types.

What is PCR ?

PCR - technical definition In asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), a traffic parameter defined as the maximum number of cells per second, in a burst, that the network agrees to accept and transfer for a given user network interface (UNI). Excess cells may be discarded by the ingress switch, or marked as eligible for discard. For constant bit rate (CBR) service, the PCR is the guaranteed CBR for the virtual circuit. Enforcement of the PCR enables the network to allocate sufficient resources to ensure that the quality of service (QoS) parameters are met. See also ATM, CBR, cell, QoS, traffic parameter, UNI, and virtual circuit. PCR definition PCR abbreviations & acronyms PCR Culture PCR legal definition PCR medical definition b> or The File Extension .PCR b> All files on a computer and the web require a file extension. Sometimes, these extensions can apply to two or more kinds of files that are completely independent of each other.

PCR When there are multiple files that use the same extension, it's typical for only two files to share the extension. It is used for even more files with the .PCR extension. Uses The .PCR extension represents three different file types: in Creatacard software, as a benchmark file and as an image file. Creatacard Creatacard is a program that produces greeting cards and other cards that can be mailed. According to, the .PCR extension applies to postcard files. Benchmark also describes the second use as a benchmark file. A benchmark file tags and encodes certain properties of software. It can also be defined as XML (rules for encoding a document). Benchmark files are associated with the software attached to USB drives and within Linux operating systems. images According to, the third and final use of the .PCR extension is for image files, similar to the more commonly used .JPG and .GIF formats. Specifically, .PCR is used within Windows and Linux in FullProf Suite, a crystallography (the arrangement of atoms in solids) visualizer, according to the FullProf Suite homepage.

Can instal a lynx op system but not any versions of windows eh??? tried xp vista and 7 boot and repair discs, keep getting bootmgr missing or insert system disc messages but lynx op system booted up and...

I suspect your pc is not seeing the hard drive. I take it you are using a Sata drive but not installing the sata driver for the motherboard. Try installing on an IDE drive. If this works the above is correct.Good luck.

I am connected to internet but get error 651

I am assuming you have purchased a new pc with Windows7 and have a DSL internet connection. If so the following tutorial should prove useful. This is a common problem and known bug within the Windows7 framework that they are working to correct. Keep in mind that this fix is only applicable for the Windows7 operating system.

"The RAS PPPoE driver file "raspppoe.sys" found under c:windowssystem32drivers folder seems to be the root cause of the problem. Fortunately, we can work around the problem simply by renaming the original raspppoe.sys file to something like "raspppoe_orig.sys" copying a working file from a Windows Vista system. If you do not have access to a Windows Vista system click here to download raspppoe.sys file (unzip)."

Once downloaded and unzipped you may rename the old rasppoe file as mentioned above by right clicking the icon and choosing 'rename'. Then copy the new rasppoe file you downloaded into the applicable folder. You will find this file in the following directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers. Bear in mind, when searching for the file inside the drivers folder, the .sys file extension may or may not be included in the actual name. If the original file is named 'rasppoe' without the .sys file extension in the name, leave this file extension off when renaming and copying as well.

My GE instajack is not working. It had a greeen signal, now it has a red signal.

Most likely, the extension unit cannot communicate with the
indicator light is solid base unit for one of the following reasons:
red • Base unit has yet to be installed. Install base unit. (Refer to
the Set Up section.)
• Extension is too far from the base unit. Relocate either the
base or extension unit to another electrical outlet. If
indicator light on extension
unit remains solid red, reprogram the link code on extension

Follow these steps:
• Press and hold the button on the right side of the base
unit until the indicator light changes to solid red.
(Approximately five seconds.)
• Release the button, then the indicator light will blink orange.
This creates a new link code and places the base unit into
program mode.
• Follow steps (2) and (3) in the Additional Extension Units
section for all extension units.
• Press and release the button on the base unit to take it out of
program mode. The indicator light will change from flashing
orange to solid green.

Waves not playing yet mp3s do.

Nopes. What seems to be was a suspended application installation (probably you or somebody qho used your computer just before it happenned). You can try System Restore. It should roll back that kind of file extension change. Hope it helps, good luck.
Solution #2: You can do as well if the system restore does not work to reasign the software that is going to open that file extension (so far I know the change has been made to MP3, WAV, MIDI.). That you can do it by opening my computer, then go to "TOOLS", inside of it go to "FOLDER OPTIONS", then choose the tab "FILE TYPES". There, scroll down until you see the extension "MP3" and place your mouse arrow on it. Now below it you are going to see two choices that you can click on, click on "CHANGE" and choose your favorite program. Again, I hope it helps...

2 ethernet cards can't work together

If in your network you are connecting computers directly to a PC thru multiple nics and not a router or hub leaving one as server and the others as clients and that server is NT 4,0

NT 4,0 can not auto configure the cat5 cable and would need at least 1 cable to be a cross-over and not a patch.
