Shuting off computor

Power interruptions can cause the unit to restart. Check to see if your power cord light is constantly on. Sometimes they can have a loose connection in the outlet and break the connection causing the GPS to falter.

You must make sure the polarity is right on the ac adapters, if you are off on anything ei; voltage or polarity you can easily fry the motherboard. If you have your old adapter, look on the specs and match EXACTLY when purchasing generic-just my 2 cents. If it doesn't match you still may have a chance(slim)-good luck!

gps will hold charge from ac or dc

AC adaptor may not be correct. Check label on AC adaptor with label on notebook for voltage (e.g. 19.5V or 20V) and current (e.g. ??A or 90W)

Voltage must be same and current must be same or higher on ac adaptor.

ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE: If your modem keeps restarting once the power LED turns solid green, the most likely cause is the power adaptor. Replace the power adaptor and all should be well again.

Bluetooth is not WiFi,   they are two seperate technologies.

 

you need a Wireless adapter 802.11b/g for your laptop,

you would connect the two to each other using an adhoc connection,

If you had a wireless router for your internet you could connect directly to the router, (and then you would not have to have your main computer on for you to access the internet.

BTW if your Main machine is near your phone point (for internet connection) you would not need a wireless card for your pc, as you could connect via LAN cable to the wireless router (make sure you get one with lan ports)
