Hve you cleaned the gears and brush? There is probably dirt or debris binding something up inside.

Belts keep breaking

Check to make sure the brush runs freely before you try to replace the belt. The front brush bearings often become clogged with hair or strands of cotton and once this happens it becomes difficult to get it to rotate and then the belt will fail. Once you've removed it, unscrew the end caps and clear out all debris and then inject a small volume of oil or silicone spray and reassemble. This should fix the problem!

The belt keeps breaking lately. I've had the

Before putting on the new belt make sure the brush turns freely and nothing is wraped around the bearing ends, if it is not turning free and is clean try a little grease or vasaline on the bearing ends. dont get any on the belt though. check the motor shaft also it should be clean and no residue from the old belts on it. it can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a rag, if really caked try a scotch pad .

Belt keeps breaking

in some cases when you by a belt from the brand stores the belts are not always to spec's. for example: you pick out the belt that's for your machine you go home and put it on and not even 5 to 10 mins. the belt breaks, thats because the spec's or not at the company's spec's and they break fast. take the same belt from the company and you will notice that the belt can be stretched alot more and is easier to put on. if you put on a new belt and it still breaks, first see if the brush or agitator can move freely. if not then the agitator needs to be replaced. ( fyi : the agitator end caps need to be taken off and cleaned for dirt or hair that gets twisted in there)

Why does the belt keep breaking as soon as I turn on the vacuum?

Hi Have you got the correct belt? If its breaking then the brush end caps or something is clogged. If you can get into the floor head ensure you look at the actual brush roll to see if there is anything is clogged or trapped. Remove all matter of dust and see if that works.

Generic problem for all Vacuums
The rubber band that turns

The rubber band that turns the roller on the vacuum keeps breaking. I just bought a new rubber band, put it on, and it broke immediately. Can it be fixed?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I see there could be 2 problems – either your revolving brush has hair or thread buildup in the ends of the brushroll of which is causing the belt to break and would need to be cleaned out, or check the bearings on each end – they could be **** as well, or the motor shaft or motor assm is not tuning freely and in that case the motor should be replaced and it is not the belt – one other thing is to make sure the motor is in there securely. Once you get the belt on then roll the pulley and the belt together to make sure the belt is on correctly if the brushroll spins freely.

Belts keep breaking

Check the brush roll ends to see if they have melted or frozen. They should turn freely, part #361869-1. Make sure the belt isn't being pinched somewhere.
