Question about Norelco Arcitec Electric Shaver with Jet Clean System - Gray/Black

I change the Jean CLean liquid, put the shaver on it, and push the buton to clean it ;the shaver does down, and goes up immediatly, with the light indicating to change the solution on !

I have had 3 1050CC shavers all with the same problem. Apparently other models have the same issue. After about a year of use, the unit reverses after dipping the shaver into the cleaning solution for a second. Two were replaced by Philips within the 2 year warranty period. I still use the 3rd one. There are several things you can try. If the cleaning solution is low this will cause the shaver to reverse and not clean. Add more cleaning solution. I have noticed that sometimes I have to add more fluid to the unit after a week of use. Sometimes it is necessary to fill the solution a little above the max fill line. Be careful though. Filling it too much above the max fill line can cause cleaning fluid to run out of the bottom after a cleaning cycle. If the above two fixes don't work, then press the clean button and after the unit reverses back up, wait about 5 or 10 minutes and press it again and it should stay down as long as there is enough cleaning solution in the unit. If you wait too long or too little to press the button, it won't work. I have noticed if I press the button immediately after it reverses the same problem occurs. Also if I wait 30 minutes before pressing the button the same problem occurs. There must be some sort of timing cycle. You may have to repeat this process a few times to get it to stay down and clean. This is the only way I can get mine to clean now. Obviously something is getting dirty or wearing out over time in the cleaning system. Since I have had 3 shavers with the same problem, I know many others have had it too. Philips must be aware of the problem. It is frustrating that they don't offer help on their own website and consumers have to band together to solve problems that they should be solving. The two year guarantee is very generous, but there is a design flaw with this product.

When I put my Braun series 7 in the cleaning station everything is good. It pumps liquid up to clean then it starts to pulse and the vibration shuts the system down. I redo it with the same result.


I wonder if you can charge the shaver with the cord. Or is the battery dead?
Please also check if the blades of the shaving head are pressed on correct. It is the cleaning system, what pumps up the fluid, and after a while is the the shaver that should start pulsing. So it must be an error with the shaver. If the shaver works normal but does not when not in the cleaning station, also check the contacts on the shaver and on the cleaning station.

I fill my new jet clean philips 1250cc, but the red light goes on, not enought liquid , i tried several times always the same, what can i do??


Sometimes you have to wait a little while for it to register that something is actually in there. The razor must be fully charged while in the base. Try using the clean function a few times to see if it's actually using any of the liquid at all.

It does nto cut like it use to. The blade is only 6 months old Whats the best way to clean it. It seem to be cutting with only 1 of the triple head


The Arcitec shavers have a poor design which makes it difficult to clean well. The blades can not be removed from their combs, therefore, the only way to clean this is by running them in a cleaning solution. Norelco makes a shaver cleaned that can be used for this. It is available from shaveroutlet.com at the link below. Rubbing alcohol can also be used.

Simply fill a container about 1 inch deep with the cleaner and then stick the shaver head down into the liquid with it running. Run for several seconds, remove and repeat several times.

Note that if your shaver is badly clogged, this still may not work that well due to the poor design of the shaver heads. If you require replacement, you will also find them at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

here are the hints or ideas

1) You may have a bad or damage, power on connector (soldering) inside the motherboard.
2) Bad Charger , you need to check these with a multimeter, if you know how to do it.
3) bad video inverter or its starting to fail.
4) or simply your video card, is failing. perhaps dust, or the fan for the video card is bad or clog .

You can make sure you have a nearly empty old cart in your shaver cleaner base, and then run some rubbing alchol into shaver or even some mixed with some soap to help break down the oils in the stubble crud. If you can put some also in a spray bottle and use it to clean with a little force, that will help some.

Base floods with solution during cleaning cycle


OK, Remove shaver from cleaning base. Raise top cover as if you are going to replace the cleaning cartridge. Now, look into the cleaning cup where you put the shaver into.You will notice a small hole on the bottom left side. With a Q-tip ,clean out the beard hair from the hole.If you have a model 5301 which is located on the bottom of the base, you should be able to push the Q-tip all the way through the hole. This will allow the liquid to flow back down into the cartridge.This is whats causing the overflow.

Braun 360 Cleaning base


When you are looking top down into the cleaning base you want to look to the left side of the hole where you put your razor. That is were the solution drains out after your razor is cleaned and there is probably a blockage there. I used a toothpick to clean mine out every once in awhile when gunk would build up there.

Braun 7526, how to clean without holder?


This is covered in the owner's manual. You can't use the solution, but you can clean the razor without it.

For a quick clean, press the buttons on the sides of the head to release the foil-- but don't remove it. The foil pops up just enough to create openings at the ends of the cutter block. Turn the shaver sideways, hold it over the sink or trash can, and run it for a few seconds. Click the foil back down into place.

For a thorough cleaning, remove the foil and clean the block and foil with a brush (such as the one included with the shaver), then reinstall the foil.

Good luck finding the the base. If you give up the search, I do see that they're available separately for far less than the entire package.
