Hi, Bryanv, I removed 9 screws on the back. However, I still cannot remove the handle. You mentioned there are two under attachment holder, but I found only one. The attachment holder cannot completely removed. I am not sure if there is a one behind the lower side of the attachment holder. Is there any way you can show the location of the those screws? Thanks.

I had the same problem. I ordered a new switch from a local appliance place part#417915 (also try 54542), but it can be found on-line for ~$2+shipping. There are 11 screws to remove. Remove all nine screws that hold on the back of the handle (be sure and get the two under the attachment holder). Remove the two screw from the front that hold the top dirt canister retaining bracket. Once you have the back of the handle off, you can remove the single screw at the top of the handle that holds on the top front where the switch is. The front will then 'snap' off.
The wires are soldered to the switch, and there is absolutely no slack in the wires, so I don't recommend that you cut them. Be very careful with the new switch, since the tabs on back can break off very easily if bent too much (speaking from experience). You might also want to order, and keep and extra switch, around for the next time you need to replace it (it will wear out again).
Instead of soldering the wires to the switch you might want to try using some push on female spade connectors (small), but be sure they are insulated. This will make the next replacement much easier.

Filter mesh holder is damaged, locking holes are broken will not lock in place - need new filter mesh

Hi Joe: The model has been discontinued and difficult to find replacement parts. I located a few online suppliers offering a HEPA Filter that fits the BUC11700UC. See here:

http://www.vacuumcleaners.net/bosch-buz200hcuc-hepa-filter-for-bagless-jet-upright.html or

http://www.allergybegone.com/boshepfilfor4.html or

http://www.wikio.com/product/vacuum-parts-accessories-compatible_with_bosch-reviews-12020-page3-sort0.html

Is this the part you are looking for? The third site above does offer other replacement parts if you are looking for a different filter piece.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Vacuum cleaner shuts off after short use. What's the reason. Motor seems very hot.

Almost all vacuum cleaners have a thermal cut-out, which operates when the machine gets too hot. It resets automatically when it cools down. Overheating is almost always caused by a blockage. Either the filters need cleaning or changing, or there's an obstruction somewhere in the pipe-work. Make sure all the pipes are clear so there's good air flow and you should be back in business. If the problem persists there may be trouble with the motor itself, in which case you'll need professional help (or a new machine). Good luck!

Bosch vacuum Motor turns off after a few minutes

It sounds like you have a motor protection fuse that resets after an overheat/cooling cycle. These work the same as a circuit breaker in your house with the difference being they can reset themselves. The Bosch will also shut down if there is insufficient airflow and I would check your filters first.1) Pull the filter and let the machine run.Do not pick up debris when you operate without a filter-it will be drawn straight into the motor. If it runs fine without shutting down, all you need to do is change your filter. If it shuts down again check the external hose for any blockages. Also check the throat from the powerhead for any blockages. If you continue to have the same problem then you will need to replace the fuse because at this point you have eliminated all the other likely problems.Good Luck-Scott
