Could be that the button for Sheet / Roll has been pressed. This is a popular error caused by the machine expecting a sheet when you are loading a roll. Make sure the light is located on the roll option rather than the sheet.

If this is the problem, you must first remove all media, then lower the covers and lower the media release lever before the printer will allow you to change between roll & sheet.

Canon MX882 U052 code, "incorrect" print head error, already tried the basics

The print head electronics are failing, you may get a little more life out of it but I'm sorry to say that nine times out of ten the printhead will need replacement.

the part # is QY6-0080

10% of the time the printhead and logic board will both be faulty and require replacement AT THE SAME TIME, a faulty board can trash a good head and a faulty head has been known to trash a good logic board.

you will need at least 40% ink in each of your cartridges to prime the new printhead

A lot of Canon printer's users come across with the error message, "U052 This type of print head is incorrect." It is a very common error on Canon printers and is fairly easy to troubleshoot.

There are two different scenarios related to U052 kind of error message. One is where the print head is not installed at all and then it is giving the 'U052 This type of print head is incorrect' error message.

And, the second scenario is where the print head is installed nut it is not functioning properly or probably not working at all. The below section will show step by step troubleshooting of both the scenarios.

Canon MP600 printer, error msg. U052 Cleaning the printer head doesn't help. Replacing with new (full) cartridges doesn't help. The only one thing, that helps now, is to disconnect the printer from power...

Description

Reseat the Print Head to resolve the U051 / U052 error.

Solution

Errors displayed on the printer's LCD screen:

  • U051 Print head is not installed. Install the print head.
  • U052 The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head.
Reseat the Print Head:
  1. Make sure that the power is turned on, and open the Paper Output Tray gently
  2. Lift the Scanning Unit (Cover), then hold it open with the Scanning Unit Support (A). (The print head will move to the replacement position.)
  3. Remove all the Ink Tanks in the following manner.
    1. Push the tab (B) and lift the ink tank to remove.
    2. Do not touch the Print Head Lock Lever (C) while removing the ink tanks.
  4. Once the ink tanks have been removed, raise the print head lock lever.
  5. Tilt the print head slightly towards the front of the machine and lift out gently.

Caution: Do not touch the print head nozzles <1> , electrical contacts <2>, or ink supply ports <3>. Doing so may cause printing problems.

*Before proceeding to next step, check the carriage area for packing material, torn paper, etc. and remove if found
  6. Tilt the Print Head and set it in place. Lower the Print Head Lock Lever (E) completely.
  7. Insert ink tanks into the print head.
    1. Insert the front end of ink tank into the Print Head at a slant. Make sure that the position of the ink tank matches the label.
    2. Press the mark (Push) on the ink tank until the ink tank snaps firmly into place.
Make sure that the ink lamp lights up red.
  8. Lift the Scanning Unit (Cover) slightly to set the Scanning Unit Support back to its original position, and gently close the Scanning Unit (Cover).

Caution: When closing the scanning unit (printer cover), be careful not to jam fingers.

Note: When the next printing begins, the print head cleaning will begin automatically.

My canon mp830

Error code 5200 means the print head temperature is too high. The only was to resolve this error is either replace the print head or replace the logic board. The print head is available, part number QY6-0061 but you will struggle to find a logic board. The only other thing you can try is resetting the EEPROM on the logic board, this sometimes clears the error. A service manual will show you how to do this: http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/4546483-canon-pixma-mp830-printer-service-manual
