Samsung B2100 power cycles when Australian sim used

Hi, I have a Samsung B2100 mobile phone. I am traveling to OZ in a week. I have unlocked the phone and have tried using other sims from Ireland in the phone. This works, but when I try an Australian Vodafone sim which has not been activated yet, it power cycles. The phone turns on and off repeatedly. Can you help please. The phone is Quad band. I tried the Australian sim in another unlocked phone and the menu screen came up fine. Is there some unlock code I have to enter, even though it's not asking for it. Thank you for your help.

Repeatedly cycling out the SIM can cause strange behavior, especially across networks...when this occurs you need to clear the memory and start over. Restore with either SIM in and restart and it will again allow you to swap the SIM with a new one.

Hi,from your problem its obvious that the inactivated vodafone sim is not supported by your samsung phone, the quad band samsung B2100 works with selected sims, since the phone has been working perfectly with other sims,it's a clear indication that your phone is in a perfect working condition rather its the vodafone sim that is not supported by your phone.

Thanks and take care

I will advice you don't do anything funny to your phone,so you don't end up ruining or creating a problem on your phone, because its obvious the problem is not from your phone,i will suggest you contact your service provider for an adequate and correct assistance.

    Thanks and good luck

This is the problem with the sim card, in most cases because of the voltage differences. I would recommend you to get another sim card or a replacement. There's no solution yet. Hope this helps. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

You need to unlock your samsung b2100 network first before you can use that sim card, To unlock samsung b2100 you must know what the original network from that phone. Example if you buy that phone from At&t vendor you will need samsung unlock code for at&t network, got it? After you have appropriate unlock code for your phone, you just need enter that code and your samsung b2100 can accept any sim card from other network. I hope my solution can help you to solve your problem.

How i can get a code for unlock my samsung b2100 for free

There are three ways to unlock your mobile phone

1. TEMPORARY UNLOCKS:
Put a non-accepted SIM Card and turn it on. Type *#9998*3323#. Press Exit. You will get a new menu. Select Malloc Fail.

In newer phones:
#*7337#

2. If you want to unlock your phone put a sim from another company then type *#9998*3323# it will reset your phone. Push exit and then push 7, it will reset again. Put your other sim in and it will say sim lock, type in 00000000 then it should be unlocked. Type in *0141# then the green call button and it's unlocked to all networks. This code may not work on the older phones and some of the newer phones. If it doesn't work you will have to reset your phone without a sim in it by typing *#2767*2878# or *#9998*3855# (not tested)

3. Type *#9998*627837793# Go to the 'my parameters' and there you will find new menu where you can unlock phone.(not tested-for Samsung C100)
To unlock a Samsung turn the phone off take the sim card and type the following code *#pw+15853649247w#.

If you still have problem then you can unlock your mobile using these sites:-
