SOURCE: GE Dryer DWSR473GV0WW periodically just hums when turning on switch

if it hums when you start it means switch is ok. problem may be the motor capacitor. to check, take off the top and give the drum a push in the normal direction of rotation. if it goes then motor capacitor is faulty - cheap part

SOURCE: Kenmore 1995 Built in Microwave humming sound only when door is close

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

SOURCE: Dryer model DBXR463. Power is

If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with:
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached. Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

The AC makes a humming sound when starting the fan. If I spin it by hand it runs. Model 620315.321 serial 90716722.

The humming sound is the motor trying to start, if you turn it by hand, usually they will run. it sounds like the motor for fan needs cleaning and oiling. God-Bless ya all!

My outside Kelvinator central ac unit will not turn on. I hear a faint humming noise coming from it so it appears that it is getting power but won't turn on. My fan in the house will turn on and...

Its possible that the contactor that closes to start the outdoor unit is not pulling in and passing power. You are hearing the coil humming since it is getting control power. Also first check that breaker for outdoor unit is not tripped

Printer won't turn on and AC Power Adapter plug is making a humming noise.

hi

if the AC adapter is humming, refrain (stop) from using it !

the adapter is physically damaged and the internal transformer has been dropped several times to make such a noise.
you will have to purchase a new AC adapter, p/n should be and it should cost about $10-$15

I have humming noise from earphones connection Minidisc MZ -N1

Are you using an AC adapter, or running it on batteries? If 'wall-wort' AC adapter, that's the issue. If you're running it on batteries, sounds like a bad ground, try different earphone/headphones and see if the hum goes away. With the 2nd pair of headphones/earphones, does the hum go away, or if you wiggle the headphone jack back and forth a little bit?

a real hummer. humm can be the sound of a short.but it sounds since u did only turn the fan on it hummed ...fanns are blower motors in acs the motor I bet ate it and needs a new one no way of fixing the motor but most are easy and cheap to replace...go or call an ac applance man ...see if he got a good used one for you or go the manufacture take model make serial no. sometimes u can spin the fan while on and it takes off again...this is dangerous so use a plastic long something but will dy again after u turn it off. good luck.
