I have two complete Pontec watercourse kits: reservoir, pump, hose, fittings and pebbled 6' sheet that acts as the bed. I have no installation or operation instructions Does any one instructions for this kit? Will the pump included (marathon 400) pump up an 18' path with an 8' rise?

Hi,the instruction manual of your device can be downloaded for free at www.manualsonline.com or www.manualnguide.com,probably you can get it at their website.in addition, the marathon 400 will definitely pump up an 18' path with a 8' rise

Thanks and take care

    Thanks for your quick response.

Neither manual site has any pontec manuals. The manufacturer has no manuals posted on their website. I sent an e-mail to them requesting the manual.

I am building a small downhill stream. Do I need to put underlayment under the lining material or can I go just with the plastic liner. There will be some large boulders along the path laid on the liner (app 150-200 lbs.). Do these need underlayment under them to protect the liner?

  • Oyelade Gbenga May 31, 2010

the set-up needs an underlayment which will serve as a protector to the liner, but its not so necessary, however, since you have sent an e-mail requesting for the manual,i will suggest you excise some patience, because the manual will be sent to you,it's only a matter of time

    Good luck

Bleeding hydraulic clutches

Did you replace the master or slave cylinder?
If you replaced the clutch master cylinder, make sure you bench bleed it before you install it. Bench bleed it by getting a "bleed kit" (plastic fittings that screw into the hole where the hydraulic line connects to it, and a couple of hoses) secure the master cylinder in a vise (don't crush it, just hold it firmly), insert the plastic fitting and attach a hose. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid, then route the hose back into the fluid within the reservoir. insert a rod into the end of the master cylinder where the brake rod goes, then slowly push in and out until you don't see any more bubbles.
Then remove the plastic fitting and quickly install. Make sure to keep some rags handy to put under the master cylinder as it will leak a little while you're trying to get it installed. Keep in mind that brake fluid can ruin your paint, so wipe any off immediately.

If you replaced the slave cylinder and it's not bleeding, you can connect a long vacuum line to the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder and hold it in the master cylinder fluid reservoir. have someone pump the clutch slowly until all of the bubbles are gone, then bleed it the "old-school" way, by opening and closing the bleed valve while someone pumps for you.
Hope this helps

Can you buy sheets for sofa beds easily?

You can just use regular fitted sheets on a sofa bed although sometimes they don't fit very well or get torn. There are places that sell sheets specifically for sofa beds, such as; http://www.bedlinensetc.com/sofa-bed-sheets.html

HOW DO YOU TAKE OFF A POWER STEERING LINE? I HAVE A 96 FORD E150 5.8

When power steering hose replacement is required, follow these steps:
  1. With the engine stopped, remove the return hose at the power steering gear, and allow the fluid to drain from this hose into a drain pan. On some cars, the vehicle must be lifted on a hoist to replace the power steering hoses.
  2. Loosen and remove all hose fittings from the pump and steering gear.
  3. Remove all hose-to-chassis clips.
  4. Remove the hoses from the chassis, and cap the pump and steering fittings.
  5. If O-rings are used on the hose ends, install new O-rings. TRW steering gear cylinder lines have gaskets that are serviced as a unit. The old gasket must be pried out of the fittings in the housing before the new lines and gaskets are installed. Lubricate O-rings with power steering fluid.
  6. Reverse steps 1 through 4 to install the power steering hoses. Tighten all fittings to the manufacturer's specified torque. Be sure all hose-to-chassis clips are in place. Do not position hoses where they rub on other components.
  7. Fill the pump reservoir to the full mark with the manufacturer's recommended fluid. Bleed air from the power steering system. Check the fluid level in the reservoir and add fluid as required.
