One Side Hotter Than the Other

My Weber gas grill has always had one side burn hotter than the other? I have had the grill for 3 years and I'm not sure what to do. The side farthest from the propane tank always burns much cooler. HELP!

SOURCE: Side burner on propane gas grill burns with orange

here is a link to a page that shows what the colors of the flame should look like and what causes the orange instead of the blue flame. http://www.appliance411.com/faq/gas_range_flames.shtml
I would begin by checking to be sure you do not have a spider or a cob web in the burner partially blocking the gas or the air intake.

Are you using natural gas or LP gas. If LP, replace the regulator filter. If clogging, you won't get the full amount of gas.

SOURCE: weber grill three burner. New tank of propane but

The new style2_bing.gif OPD valves have a small brass ring located in the female fitting on the LP tank. Over time this ring can work loose and then it does not allow the male fitting to fully depress the OPD valve thus reducing your gas flow
Using a small flat bladed screw driver tighten the small brass ring This should solve your problem
IF not you might want to remove the cap (white) on your regulator and try slowly adjusting the regulator, make small adjustments and try the BBQ My Weber if I set the front and back burners to MED I get right at 350 degrees in 60 degree outdoor temps. Adjusting the regulator will take some time to get it right but If it is not your tank it is most likely your regulator out of adjustment

Need to convert our Q300 propane grill to natural gas. Do you sell conversion kits?

Unfortunately, Weber grills are not convertible from one gas type to another. There are no conversion kits available for your model or any Weber model gas grill.

To confirm this, go to the following link and on page 2 under Warnings, last paragraph, left hand column, you can confirm this, if you like.

http://help.weber.com/manuals/pdf_files_2011/Gas/Weber%20Q/Q300320_OwnersGuide_41060_021011.pdf

The only advantage to converting it to Natural Gas is not having to refill the grill tank. The downside, is that you will loose the heating capability that Propane has. It burns cleaner and hotter than Natural gas, in an outdoor environment.

Hope this helped you. Happy Grilling!!

Can a weber summit s-440 built in grill that is natural gas be switched to a propane?

The easy answer is yes. Unfortuantely Weber no longer sells conversion kits, even to me, and I am an authorized Weber waranty service company. The only thing you can do is try and find a competant grill company in your area who has the expertise to buy the correct orifices and then the expertixe to drill them out to the correct size for LP gas. NG orifices are to large and will give you wild, uncontrollable flames if just hook the grill up to LP. LP orifices are smaller because LP gas burns hotter.

How to change a weber natural gas grill to propane

According to Weber, "There is no conversion kit available to convert any Weber gas grill from one gas type to another. Any attempts to do it will void your warranty."

Sorry, but if it's any consolation, Propane Gas burns cleaner and hotter that Natural Gas in an outdoor environment. Which translates into faster preheating and hotter searing temperatures.

Hop e this helps and happy Grilling!!

With all three burners on high, the grill only goes to about 300 degrees F. All the burners are burning.

Has it ever burned hotter? I assume this is propane? If so the new safety valves I find are very finicky. Try turning off the gas. disconect hose from tank. Reconnect, turn back on gas and see if it is better. I

I had one that would not give full flame and sometimes I had to do this 3 or 4 times before it would give a full flame.
Good luck

Converion kit to natural gas.

I don't believe Weber makes a gas conversion kit for your model grill. I say this, because your model grill comes two ways, Natural Gas or Propane. This indicates to me, that there's more than just changing the burner orifices involved.

I can tell you this ... If you could convert it to Natural Gas, you would soon discover that the grill doesn't preheat as fast as with propane. Nor, will it maintain heat as well as propane, in an outdoor environment. Propane burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment.

Sure, it may seem like a hassle to refill and change the tank, but I can assure you, you won't be satisfied with it's performance.

Since the grill is 15 years old, it is probably time to rebuild it. Replace both burners and anything else that is not working properly
