Question about Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Bread Maker

1 Answer

When I plug my mini in to start a new loaf it does not do its regular thing. It tries to make pasta! No matter what I do I can not get it to function in its basic bread maker mode. I tried unplugging it, resetting it, removing the pan but it only wants to make pasta! Is the cycle shot? Do I need a new machine? Is this common with the mini? Is it possible to repair? Would I be better off with a new one?

OK,

What happens to these "liked" miracles is there boards inside give out meaning its stuck on one cycle, hence does not want to go to bake mode. ?Basically here is what I am saying, The oven will be better off recycled and you buying a new one. WHY?

1.There is just no parts for these to go around
2. the part is not user friendly to fix and would cost the manufacture tons.
3. The part once fixed will just go out anyhow if it was fixed within a short period of time.

So you better of finding another option. OR taking it to the next level and finding someone with this unit on like ebay or something and using it for parts.

I am sorry I cannot be more straight to the point then this and this is probably not what you wanted to hear. I hope you do not shoot the messenger over his experiences with these ovens and leave positive feedback with the accept button, Thanks

Since my machine is pretty dead, would you recommend I buy another Zojirushi or are they known for this kind of a problem??? Or is that not within your boundaries to discuss????

Its not the brand that is the issue, its over time you had it or other uncommon occurrences that this happens. I would be safe saying you can go with a new one same brand different model or upgrade would be nice.

But if you do go new get a extended warranty you be glad you did. We are really not held back from put opinions based on our personal experiences but we hold back these opinions because it may offend or be taken the wrong was and not out of context.

There are other models, brands, I like black and decker to be honest. Try to stick with popular name brands to be on the safe side. Keep in mind warranty!

Thanks for your reply and please do close the issue with the accept button.

My Imperia electric pasta machine in not getting power?

I would doubt that it's the electrical cord or plug, (though anything is possible.). I don't know this machine that well. It's possible that the switch is bad, but more likely I would think that it might be a fuse inside the machine.

Did it stop working while making pasta? Or was it working fine the last time, you put it away, brought it back out and now it's dead? Or is it a machine you bought new and it's DOA?

If it was overworked, it may have overheated and blew a fuse inside to protect the motor or other parts from burning up.

You might want to bring it to a local appliance repair shop that can take it apart to test things out to see were the disconnect is.

Does it matter if I use dried or fresh pasta?

That depends who you ask. Any real cooks or probably all Italians will tell you that fresh pasta just tastes so much better than dried pasta, but if you are short on time and need to create a dish in minutes, you should go for dried pasta without feeling guilty and save the fresh pasta making for when you have time.

Can diabetics eat pasta? I have a friend coming over who is diabetic and I wanted to make pasta for dinner.

Pasta is a food that is high in carbohydrates, so diabetics can eat pasta but would have to just keep an eye on portion size. If you want to reduce the carb level of your pasta dish, you should use whole wheat pasta that is rich in fiber and slows the digestion of carbs down so sugar levels don't rise as quickly.

Bread kneader gets stuck in loaf

That is going to happen often with breadmachines, especially when making breads with thick crust. The only way to avoid it 100% of the time is to make dough with your machine and then do the final rising and baking in the oven. There is one other thing you can do to avoid the dreaded" paddle injury" to your loaves and still bake in your machine. Visit me at breadmachineshelp.com and I'll reveal my little trick!

Dense, misshapen (maybe undercooked?) loaf!

A COMMON problem is to use regular flour instead of the "bread flour".

I stack the ingredients in a particular order for my Hitachi brand breadmaker. The liquid goes in on the bottom. Then the BREAD FLOUR ( high glutten), then other powdered ingredients EXCEPT the yeast... It goes on top so as to be exposed and activated the last thing during mixing... The flour I use is the "Better for Bread" brand. Using regular enriched flour usually results in a paperweight half as tall as it should be.

After initial mixing, the dough should be in a ball and not really sticking to the sides of the container.

Bread Pan won't release...

I was given an old chefmate thats not even made anymore and loved it. I was confined to only making a basic white bread from it though being I had no manuel and couldnt find one on line to use the other settings.

As I said, the chefmate was old and finally gave up the ghost.

I shoped here on amazon com as I always do to look for a new breadmachine, and also see the reviews of other amazon com users to help. I had it narrowed down to 3 differant machines. THen I found this machine. Breadman TR8752

I bought it directly from amazon which got to me in a lightening speed of 2 days. Perfectly boxed and protected.

This thing is a beauty. I put it through the one time recommended rapid cycle empty to burn off all manufacturing oils and couldnt wait.

When that was done I made the first loaf which was a basic white loaf to start with, from the recipe book included.

All I can say is WOW. This bread came out so soft and fluffy. Tasted so good. The digital controls make it easy to read and see exactly what cycle your bread is going through.

Very easy to clean after your done I should add. The window at the top really helps so you can see it knead or bake.

As I said, I am new to breadmachines so I am only judging from my old chefmate, which was nice, dont get me wrong, but the kneading cycle in this Breadman was absolutly incredible. I kneads the dough extremely thoroughly. Mixing everything perfectly.

I have just gone shopping and picked up ingrediants as so I can now go down the list making each recipe in this book. Tonight will have Italian herb.

I can't wait to give the jam's doughs and pasta settings a try, which there are recipes for these too in the booklet. I also can't wait to try out the timer. Put in my ingrediants the night before and have set to be finished by the time I wake up. It looks extremely easy to set. And the book walks you through everything so easily.

I find the machine is nice and quiet, and actually very sturdy when in kneading and mixing mode. Also I would like to note, although it is in a beautiful stainless body, it dosn't get hot at all. It is very well insulated. But inside does so you definatly want oven mits when taking out a new loaf. This just shows me that is was very well designed and put together. Alot of thought was definatly put into this by the company.
