Why is water coming out of refrigerator evaporator


During the cooling cycle, moisture in the compartment air freezes on the evap coils. During the defrost cycle, the ice melts and drips down. This is totally normal. There should however, be a drip pan and drain to control where the water goes.

Chocolate ice cream has turned a funny color and that side is running loudly


A grey color often indicates the beater bar is grinding on the inside of the barrel. What you may be seeing is metal. Be sure your beater bar is not bent. Visually inspect the inside of the barrel for marks. Wear is not normal. If you see wear and the beater bar is not bent, be sure all plastic bearings and components are installed. Also, it is normal to have some drip and lube in the drip pans, excessive amounts usually indicate problems though. Hope this helps you.

How to get the temp up and keep it up


Depends what you mean by keeping the temp up. This is not a charcoal grill but a smoker and meant for lower temps. but if you are having difficulty with the low to medium temp. ranges, check for excessive drafts, additionally if you are using any additional pans for smoking or collecting drippings assure that they do not excessively block heat circulation.

I replaced the porcelain enameler flavorizer bars on my Weber genesis gas grll less than a year ago--four out of the five bars are bent and misshapen--no longer straight. Why??? They still look brand...


You are overheating the grill - make sure the thermometer is working on the right side of the grill lid. You should not heat above 550F (preheat) and you should not cook above 500F.

Secondly, you must clean out the drip tray (not just the aluminum foil tray but the bigger tray it is attached to (it slides out the front of the grill too). The grease that piles up on this tray can catch fire and overheat the grill (including the flavorizor bars).

Last suggestion is to get stainless steel bars next time (make sure you get the size that fits your grill because the stainless steel sizes also come a bit longer). The stainless bars are high temperature stainless steel and do not corrode. They are a bit heavier and cost about 30 to 50% more but well worth it. They clean up very easily and transfer heat to the cooking surface well. Keep them clean to keep the cooking surface hotter.

Is it better to put your meat on the top rack of smoker or closer to the water bowl?


The top rack of the smoker will give you more smoke flavor since the smoke is allowed to rotate 360 degrees around the meat.

The drip pan


Take off the toe grill on the bottom of the refrigerator and the drip pan will be sitting down low in the left hand side of the opening. You have to lift it up and pull pretty hard to get it out. If you have pet hair ( and probably even if not) you should periodically vacuum out the coils in this section -- you can see them when you remove the drip pan. I just got a LOT of dog hair out of mine last night.

Have a brinkman all in one smoker but no instructions on how to use it


Put the briquettes in the bottom pan and put the wood chips around the outside edge. Put water in the top pan. All this must be done before you light the charcoal. Using an electric lighter works best and won't change the flavor of your food like starter fluid will. After coals are lit, place meat on rack and seal everything up. Now you're Smokin'!
