Question about Dell A960 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My office depot repl cart for Dell A960 will not print. Ptr says "remove tape from cart when trying to print alignment page. Have use these carts before with no problem. Already exchanged on set @ office depot. Is this a cart or ptr malfunction? Thanks.

Try using alcohol on a Qtip to clean the print head. It may be clogged and the sensor thinks the tape is still on.

--Try to remove the cartridges

--closing the door

--unplug the printer

--plug the printer in

--when the printer powers on it will acknowledge the missing cartridges

Have put new cartridges in and only prints yellow lines


Remove all cartridges, make sure any tape has been removed from over the nozzle. Ensure that everything has been installed properly, then use your printer (prompts on device, or in printer>control panel) to print some test pages, realign heads, etc.

My Dell A960 will not print from word documents but will print maintenance test page, align/clean. I purchased new black/color cartridges from Office Max -- printer will not print. Placed old Dell...


Hi,

Remove the cartridges and clean the contacts ( electrical contacts - golden colored ) with a lint free cloth and re-install them back in the printer.

Try this and check if it prints the test page.

I am getting a 50c error on my dell 960 all in one printer how can i fix this problem


only Dell ink carts will fit or work in you printer. If the ink cartridge you got is a refilled used Dell ink cart. It should print ok but will never indicate true ink levels. If the ink cartridge carrier goes to the left when the clear plastic indexing strip which is attached to both sides of the printer, has slipped out of the slot on the back of the ink cart carrier or the strip has come off of one side. If it is off put it back on. In future use only new dell cartridges.

Dell Photo 926 printer keeps saying that it cant align and wont print after installing new cartridges. Says tape is still on there but it isnt.


1. cancel the alignment .
2. try one cart at a time and only make a copy of a test document ...(press "select" if u get cart missing error ) ...only of the carts is causing the error
3. possible u have defect cart ..or the internal sensor could have gone bad (rare scenario )
4. get a replacement carts...

Won't print in black


Make sure the contacts where the cartridge goes in are clean. A cloth dampened with water should be all right. You might also try installing a different cartridge. If that doesn't solve your problem, then your printer has an internal problem.

Lexmark X5320 won't print acts like it's printing but paper is blamk, also tells me right ink is wrong( it is not)


Hello there,

The most common cause for printing blank pages is (1) Failure to remove the protective tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Even if you have removed the tape, there might be some residual tape left at the bottom of the cartridge. I would suggest you check out for this yellow or/and transparent blue tape at the bottom.Please remove it, if present. (2) If there is no tape left behind, then the next option is to clean the cartridge nozzles. I would suggest you go to Lexmark control program or Lexmark Solution Center and run the clean nozzle test. You should see solid dark lines on the print out. Repeat the process 2-3 times till you get a good output. (3) If all the above steps fails, don't worry.. we have one last thing to try... Remove the carts from the printer.. take a warm damp paper towel Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are touching the towel, and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds. The nozzles are where the ink comes out of the cartridge. Repeat this process atleast two times and then put the carts back to the printer after 1 min (we need to allow the cart contacts to dry). Now you can install the cart to the printer and try printing. If you still have a problem with the cart, then I would suggest you try another cart as there should be something wrong with the cart that you have right now.

Alignment problem


Here's a solution from Dell Technical Support hotline - just hit cancel as soon as the pirnter starts the alignment process. It worked for me! You will have to cancel the alignment page every time you turn on your printer, but that's better than no printing at all.

i was having these same exact problems then i looked at my old ink cartridge and saw that the blue tape was off and that i hadnt taken it off my new one i was trying to print with.!!!

HP Deskjet 950C - trouble loading ink cartridges


1st thing would be to remove the cartridge & check for any damage to the copper contacts as these are what tell the printer that a new cart has been installed. Next make sure you removed the tape covering the nozzles (I've done this before & boy do you feel silly).

If this all looks OK then pull the power out while the cart is still not fitted (this will fully reset the printer).

Once it comes back up, try fitting the cart again also checking that the contacts in the cartridge holder are not damaged/dirty.

This should sort the problem
