SOURCE: I have a mountfield 1538h-sd blades disengaged

The belts may be loose. With the mower off, engage the blades and check the tension.Next would be to get under the mower and check for debris in and around the lever that engages the blades.Sometimes trash will get hung up in there and the blades will disengage. The next step would be to inspect the pulleys for debris and to make sure the spindles are not bent. While at the pulleys make sure there are no burrs or cacks in the pulleys,as that will cause the blades to disengage.

Why wont my mountfield 725m mower go into blade motion

I would check the mower deck itself. This usually happens when it clogs with grass or something got jammed in the belt or pulleys.

When replacing the drive belt on a rear-drive lawn mower, make sure the spark plug is disconnected, remove the blade, take off any bolts for the belt cover and remove the belt. Replacement blade for castelgarden C390 lawnmower

What Geographic location please?

UK:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mountfield-Castel-Garden-EL390-R-C390-K390-Mower-blade-/280561700508

The blades on most sites are listed under Mountfield / Castel / Lawn King
There are 41cm and 37cm blades listed as fitting this mower. Seems odd that there is a 4 cm difference for the same mower.

As best I can tell this takes a 15 inch blade PN: 81004117/1 (
