Question about Sharp LC32D47UT 32 in TV
TV turns on like normal, it presents the channel the tv is currently on, you can hear the volume kick in, but in a matter of a couple seconds the TV shuts off leaving the power button blinking green. When I hold the power button down for a while I get the light to turn yellow, then red, then completely off again. I've tried anything I can think of to somehow reset the TV, but nothing has worked.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Did you check the service manual troubleshooting guide yet. You can try disconnecting the power to the inverter board and see if it will stay on and have sound. Basic LCD monitor and TV troubleshooting guide: Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/ he can make you a set of caps for you.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

You may also have one or more bulbs out. Mine had three out, which makes the inverted detect a fault and triggers shutdown. I painstakingly adapted the clips from the old bulbs onto ones from another 37" tv. I hear that you can buy them for $13 each. I am not sure where though. I just bought a 'cracked-screen' 37" on Craigslist for $30 and retrofitted the lamps.
