I have a leviton programable timer no.vpt24 Your instructions show two wires in the junction box. I only have one wire.I can join the black to black white to white but no wire to join with red wire

I think you are saying that you have 1 romex-cable entering box.
And that 1 cable has a black, white and bare ground wires.

Here's how to wire Leviton's vpt24 timer.
Timer has Red Black White and Green wires.
Connect White and Green wires to bare ground wire.
Connect Black-timer wire to black wire inside box
Connect Red-timer wire to white wire inside box.
Turn power ON, and try timer.
If timer does not work, then reverse Black-timer and Red-timer.

Here is photo of similar wiring using Intermatic timer

Replacing an old electric range that was hard wired (8 gauge), red, black and a bare wire. New range allows hard wiring, but the terminal block has connections for black, red and white (neutral). Can I...

White to bare wire, the bare wire runs to the common or ground in your breaker box.
Your black to black should go to a breaker in your panel.
The red to red goes to same breaker but to the opposite screw. 1 leg is from 1 side of buss bar and 1 from the other each 1 carries 120volts giving you 240 at the stove.
This can go as low as 220 and you will be okay.
ANYTIME WHEN WORKING WITH ELECTRIC TURN BREAKER OFF!!! TEST TO SEE NO POWER IS AT YOUR WORK!! LOCK THE BOX SO IT CAN NOT BE TURNED BACK ON!!
THANK YOU

Need to re wire drop in range my wires r red white and black your wires r red and black wich two colors should i combine

The RED and the BLACK wires are the HOT leads. This means they each have 120VAC on them. You simply match the corresponding colors (red to red, black to black). DO NOT connect them ALL together. The WHITE wire is neutral (0 VAC). In a 3-wire configuration, the neutral is grounded to the equipment cabinet. The following link explains:

Just purchased new electric stove. The old stove had been hard wired. Black, white and copper. The new stove is asking to connect red, white and black. what should i do ?

Normaly black, white, copper (ground) is a 2-wire 110 volt, black white, red, copper is a 3-wire 220volt circuit. You must have a 3-wire cicuit run from circuit breaker box to stove connector.

Wire a 4 prong l dryer box

First with any electrical repair, safety must be observed. Be sure the circuit is turned off at the breaker panel (check wires with a voltage tester)
quality gloves and eye protection should be worn.

Typically the terminals or screws in the plug will be color coded (2 brass, 1 aluminum & 1 green)

The black and the red are both hots and can be connected to either of the brass terminals.

Red - hot = Brass terminal
Black - hot = other Brass terminal
White - neutral = aluminum terminal
bare copper - ground = green terminal

I hope this helps...
