I did solve the problem; instead of spending time online looking for a user's book, I tore my house apart and found the original one. Thank you for your response.
To set the clock for the Sharp CD-C472:
1. Power switch off 2. Press CLOCK button. 3. Within 3 seconds, press MEMORY/SET button. 4. Press TUNING/TIME to select time mode (12 or 24 hour) 5. Press MEMORY/SET button. 6. Press TUNING/TIME to select hour. 7. Press MEMORY/SET button. 8. Press TUNING/TIME to adjust minutes. 9. Press MEMORY/SET button.
Please note, your "solution is valid for" choice forced the Sharp CD-C401 selection BUT THAT IS NOT ACCURATE THIS SOLUTION IS SPECIFIC TO THE CD-C472.
