Sounds like it is going into protection mode, but you have supplied very little info as to why it does this, does it do this staight after turning the unit on?, was the unit driven to loud for a long period? or the power supply may be faulty which is probably the best solution, what sort of system is it?

Model S10. Why does it pop when it turns on and off?

This happens to amps/speakers in general. It's not specific to your system. It's caused by momentary changes in power. Please read the following for more detail: Amp causes speaker pop

I need help with volume and popping and cracking in the speakers. It's a new system and it's only plugged into my record player.

You are most likely going to need a preamp to go between your home theater and record player. The popping and hissing is usually a grounding issue. You will have to ground your system properly to get rid of this.

I have a big pop on the speakers when i turn on my engine

The HU you removed may have had a circuit to prevent turn-on/turn-off pop. The nav system may not have it.

Loud popping from speakers

If the unit shuts down after you hear a pop, you have DC voltage on the speaker output line. If it doesn't shut down, is it popping in all speakers, or just some?

Surround Sound system ''popping'' through speakers

if you have left the stereo on for long periods of time heat builds up in the electronic circuts and it starts buzzing and popping through the speakers. What I would do is turn it off and let it cool down for a couple hours and it should be fine for a whole or just buy a new surround system.
