I have a HP Pavillion (new Jan 2007, came with Vista). Works great...just recently the DVD/CD doesn't want to open/eject. The lights are on...nothing has changed...I can hear what sounds like a faint electrical clicking sound when I press the eject button. I've removed it, tried tapping it and so on...it just won't open. Is this what happened to you?

please email me back at rkhicks3@yahoo.com if you came up with a resolution of some sort.

    Thanks!!

I don't need the lightscribe. Do you have an idea where to get a replacement ? Do i have to remove this one and hit the pc stores ?

Has been working fine, now the system doesn't see the drive. Have checked the cable connections; ok. Have rebooted many times to no avail. What could be bad; the drive or the cables?

Is Model# TS-H635 DVD writer compatable with a hp pavilion 533w if so how do i hook the wiring up it is not the same as the old one

Your old one may have a PATA connector (2 row of pins 40 pins wide) and your new drive may be SATA. Check your motherboard for a SATA socket (if it has one). Otherwise you will need a SATA card for your computer. Ceck your manual or HP online.

Do I need sata or eide for internal dvd writer on HP a1330n?

This model HP has a SATA disk controller.
You need a SATA DVD writer.
If you are not sure, when you remove the faulty DVD writer, take it with you when you go to purchase a nre DVD writer, make sure the new DVD writer has the same connectors as the faulty DVD writer.

My HP slimline TS-H653 is only 1 year 3 months old. It will not turn on; however, the green light in the back is on. Please help!

The green light in the back is probably the network jack. Do you hear the fans come on or any beeping? If could be the motherboard, in that case the manufacturer would be the best place to call.

If the drive is trashed, just force the drawer open. If you don't want to do that, you should be able to disassemble the drive enough to get the disk out by removing screws... Sometimes the screws are underneath stickers, or warranty stickers, etc etc.
