HI,

First try to soak the ink pin onto the lukewarm water for 30 seconds and wipe it out until dry and then insert it back to the ink holder.

More than likely you have a problem with your printhead not your cartridge but no genuine cartridges cause the most problems. It either dries out, clogs up or a piece of jammed paper gets stuck on the printhead.

Run the cleaning cycle a few times to try to resolve or open the scanner cover and try to see paper under the carriage/printhead on the right hand side just under the cover.

Otherwise the printhead requires replacement.

Goodluck,

You dont have to clean your cartridge again and again
and specially if its new
the problem is with your print head
try to find out your black print head which is lockated below your black cartridge and safely clean it with some tisue or soft paper
but please do thi gentely
because if your printer head is get demaged you must have to replace it or may be whole printer

Canon pixma iP8500 won't print, blank pages

The colour cartridge is badly clog. put tissue with warm/hot water below the head, wait for about 30 minutes. If tissue is coloured, the dried ink inside head is out. Is it not, do suction from the outlet pipe of head cleaning mechanics.

Compatibility of Ink cartidge.

The MP600 does not use the 40 or 41 cartridges, it uses individual color (and black) ink tanks. But other models (MP190, MP460, MP470, etc) do use these cartridges. The error message you are receiving indicates that the printer does not recognize the cartridge you installed as a valid black ink cartridge. This can mean that either the cartridge is faulty, or that the printer has a problem.
I would suggest trying another new cartridge, and if you still get the same error, to contact Canon for support options if the unit is still in warranty.

Mfc-240c reading offline and empty black

Regarding your problem: If one of the color ink cartidges is out of ink, the MFC 240C printer will not operate when you only install a black ink cartidge. It requires that all four catridges have ink available in them for it to function. When you examine a cartridge it may appear that it has a little ink in it when you get message that the cartridges needs to be replaced because a little ink remains to prevent the print head from drying out. Black ink not recognized

Select printer, properties.
Select printing preferences, select advanced.
Select more options.

Make sure you do NOT have Use color cartridge for all black printing selected.

(I had set that a while ago when my black cartidge ran out when the kids had a paper due - I forgot I had reset it. Once my color cartidge ran low, everything printed pink).

Let me know if that works for you.

Replaced empt 3E cartridge. Now it won't print

I had removed and reinstalled the empty 3e cartridge. Sorry for the Confusion. I hadn't put a new 3e cartrige in until today. Them I ran " deep clean" twice. The printer works fine. I still don't understand why the printer wouldn't print color, when I was had set the printer to print in color when my 3e cartridge was empty and all colors including the 6 black showed full.
