Hoover SteamVac Widepath serial #F6026-900 /10757

I've lost my owners manual and would like to clean the **** that sucks up the water. It's got a bunch of dog hair stuck there. Is there an easy way to take thar part off?

The suction does not seem to be working. I think it may be clogged with dog and cat hair. I can't figure out how to take it apart to clean it.

Lift up on the back section where the recovery tank sets over the hole and lift it off.

The scrub brushes dont spin anymore

The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the water that is running through it. The turbine gear will have to be replaced. You can access the turbine gear by removing the hood. You can find a genuine hoover replacement part by following the link below. Just find the model number of your Steamvac.

Vac not sucking up water

its supposed to, it means you need to dump out the tank. Its a safety feature that keeps the water out of the motor. if its lifting up due to foaming, than try using the original brand shampoo

I read the manual and tried my new Hoover, the brushes spin, but the waters not going to the bottom tank, what does that mean and what can i do?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You could have a bad water release valve on your water tank of which holds the water, the trigger assm might not be connected, bent or broken. Check the trouble shooting owners manual --- also there are hoses that could be crimped or bent, or clogged or not connected, but it is my guess it is the water release valve. Try to back track the water from the holding tank and test all the valves on the system and you might find the problem by the process of elimination. Feel free to contact you local vacuum cleaner dealer in the yellow pages or contact the Hoover Co @ the information listed below:

Hoover widepath steamvac

One cause is the filter in the dirty water tank lid is pushed up too high, it needs to have a gap of 1/4 in or so. So check it, if it is up all the way, pull it down some.

You didn't give your model number, but if this is a V2, you may have a crack in the tank, alot of times it is underneath the seal on the bottom. Or the plunger at the bottom of the tank is stuck open or missing.
