How do i remove the rivets of the pull cord housing.
You don't, you must remove the entire housing to replace rewind parts.

There will be bolts that hold the housing that have the rivet in. Remove the bolts and remove that housing. Make sure you have the right amount of cord and the proper size rope. You WILL NOT have to remove the rivets. Remove any rope that is still in the recoil pulley. Now you will have to have a small screwdriver or some thing that will be used to hold the pulley from unwinding. Now you have to turn the pulley counter clock wise. You want good tension. Put the screwdriver through the fins in the pulley so it won't unwind. Make sure you line up the hole in the pulley with the hole in the shroud. Put rope through and tie a knot. Tie the handle on and then remove the screwdriver and slowly let the rope back in. Try pulling a few times to make sure you have enough tension. When enough reassemble the shrouds and give it a pull.

Testimonial: "Thank you. I'll give it a try."
You don't remove the rivets; you need to remove the whole top cover, via the bolts on the side. Most pull cord replacements are about the same and there are a million videos on youtube that will show you how it's done. I'll link you to one of my favs and you can search from there and watch more. Once you've done one, you'll have the hang of it; it's not very hard to do but the first one's a bit scary. There's two schools on the way to do it and I'll give you two links. Best of luck to you. James
