Question about Haier HP50B 50 in. Plasma Television

1 Answer

Haier 50 inch, has power, but no screen/sound

Just purchased this TV and recently it started to not turn on properly. When clicking the ON button, the light turns from red to blue and clicks on to indicate power, yet no screen pops up and its stuck in grayish screen. Any thoughts?

Tried this morning, let it on for awhile ( around 20-30 minutes ) and still nothing. Does it require a longer warm up time?

No. Either you have in a 'video' mode (inputs) or it's a defective unit.
Bring it back to the store and let them bare the weight - sorry about your disappointing purchase. Better luck next time around.  :/

Try to disconnect the set and a box if being used from power for a while and then power both back as either could cause this problem.

Blue screen on my haier 37 inch tv

my tv just went to a blue screen one day. I can turn it on and then it will just remain on the blue screen. Any button (except the volume) I push on the remote comes up on the screen "no signal". What would you suggest? I have been reading about replacing a fuse or board? Most of those are on the 42 inch version---I have teh 37 inch version.

It does sound like a power supply problem but that can be misleading because a problem somewhere else in the TV can be "holding down" the power supply. This can usually be determined by using some isolation techniques.
