Question about Craftsman 42 in. Deck 19.5hp Lawn Tractor
You may have the mower 'engaged'.
Now you know and I know this is not the case ... but the mower has to know it. There are a series of what are called "operator presence" safety switches. You may have bumped one of these switches into the "engage" mode telling the mower there is a 'safety vilolation' - don't start.
Check out the switches and adjust as may be necessary. You may find out where it is by removing the belt and even removing the deck to see if the engine will start. With the deck removed (yea i know it is a lot of work) you will have better access to the area most likely to have the switches. (There is a switch in the seat also ... you must be on the tracor to start unless the parking brake is set (on most mocels)). You coud consult your operators manual for further details on this matter.
