You can download the Office 2007 for free from Microsoft (
here if you want to try), but you won't be able to use it without a product key. The key is needed during installation. (In some versions you can skip entering the key during installation, but you'll be prompted for the key every time you run the program.) You won't be able to activate the program with Microsoft without a key.
Microsoft is no longer selling Office 2007 or keys for it, since they want you to buy Office 2010.
I recommend
OpenOffice as an alternative to MS Office. It is 100% free to download and use, and it is compatible with Windows 7. OpenOffice provides the same functions as MS Office (word processing, presentation, database, etc.). It works with a number of file formats including MS docx and pdf. And it's free, which is a most attractive feature.
