Question about Goodman GPC1342H21A Air Conditioner

1 Answer

This morning around 2:30 am the power went out in part of the

House, including the A/C. You could hear the A/C making a noise like something was working in it...I turned off that breaker for about 10 minutes and back on, the noise stopped. About 2 hours later the power came back on but now the A/C is not working at all... does it have some type of fuse in it that may have been knocked off also? your thoughts?

Lose of power

Probably, about the time it lost power is when the bearing went bad. The rotor was probably hitting the stator at that point, but the exhaust noise was so loud that you couldn't hear it. As long as it is turning, it will try to produce power, but with the bad bearing, it eventually overheated.

Starter solenoid or just a starter bad, sometimes this comes out of nowhere but usually you can hear it start cranking slow shortly before failure.

This morning there seems to be no power to the refrigerator at all.

Have you reset the house circuit breaker or checked the outlet to make sure you have power? If you have a volt meter you can track the power from the outlet to what is defective - possibly the power control board if everything is dead.

My 99 Mazda Astina 323 (auto transmission) started making a rattling noise yesterday... went to my mechanic this morning and he said it was the timing belt. couldnt leave the car with him so drove home and...

have you thought about looking at the starter clutch, its possible that you need to have it replaced or a that the needs to be rebored, since it could be that your piston is what is knocking.

Hissing noise in house

To solve this you are going to need to start eliminating things. You say you hearing is good, well just make sure next time you hear the hissing put your fingers in your ears to make sure it goes away. If it doesn't then it is internal i.e you have tinitus.

Next start turning things off at the mains. Your hifi can't hiss if it has no power, so try turning it off at the mains by unplugging it. If it is not your HiFi then start turning other things in your house off. Till you stop it.

Andrew
