Check power supply section for blown parts.
To have it repaired will be more than its worth.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The cost to repair is about the same as the cost to replace and you must send it back to Kodak for repairs. About 6 weeks turnaround.

I have a 42edt41a. The other day I turned the TV on and heard a loud pop. Now there is no picture, no power LED or nothing. I looked in the back and can see there are 3 blown fuses. Would replacing them...

You can use a brush to clean the inside and look for any bits or pieces of component in the board. if so this will indicate the component and the relativity to the POP noise. It can be a capcitor shorting and bursting or even a transistor that has popped. The fuse being blown is due to a failure and it can be SHORT in the board. You need to use a multimeter to probe the +B and trace the short, Isolate the sections and it will lead to the shorted ccomponent.

60 inch projection, about 4 yrs old, no picture made a pop noise and screen went black still have sound

Hello,

The pop noise you heard was as a result of the t-com board getting burnt.

Try to replace your t-com board and your television will be okay once again.

Take care

Read replace lamp then afew weeks later heard pop noise and now black screen

Two things in your TV can make that popping sound. One is the bulb of course and the other is a capacitor. Have you pulled out the bulb to inspect it? My guess is that you have broken glass in the cooling fan, which is why there is a grinding sound. Most bulbs tend to contain the glass from getting everywhere as it's only the filament inside that pops creating little diamond looking pieces inside the lens. If a surge was strong enough or if the bulb was poorly manufactured, the whole unit can explode inside spraying glass everywhere.

If the bulb looks fine, the pop must've been a capacitor on one of your circuit boards resulting in no display. Since the TV still powers on, your power supply and it's fuse appear to be fine. Check the bulb first and go from there.

No power to my 51inch vivitek. heard a popping noise and everything whent dead

I had the same problem with my Pioneer PDP-4300

It was caused by a bad Powerboard. I called Pioneer 4 times to get them to fix it (website described problem as their fault and said they would replace). Finally I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint, 2 days later, I had paperwork authorizing my TV to get fixed and within a week someone was out replacing the power board.

Screen went from Red to Black

It Needs a new Backlight period.(Red hue is clue before complete failure). 15.4" Widescreen? Weve replaced hundreds and some can be a pain.. Run on external monitor until you can get it in for repair.

There are a ton of businesses that can replace these besides us where are you located?

DLP TV Samsung HLP4674w No Picture

If you hear a ticking and or buzzing sound as it is trying to start up then most likely the replacement lamp is bad. Take it out and reseat it one more time to see what happens. The noise you hear is the ballast attempting to fire the lamp up.

Toshiba 32A41 TV -- color problem

Toshibas are notorious for developing shorts in the inernal guns of the picture tube. In your case the green gun is shorted to G1. The noise you heard was an internal arc between the elements. It is unfortunate however, the repair of this problem usually requires the picture tube to be replaced. Sometimes a savvy technician with sencore picture tube rejuvenator can remove the short. This however usually does not last. Scrivitron

cmv221d wont power on even after changing capacitors Not even the LED or any response from the screen, nothing.. I ordered replacement capacitors, all except the big 400v one, replaced them all.. nothing's changed. I've ordered the big capacitor's replacement just incase, but heard they rarely break.. any other ideas of what the problem might be? The guy who gave me it said that he thought all that was wrong with it was a line across the screen (corresponding to where he said that line was, I found some dirt on the edge of the connectors). It actually did not power on as it was supposed to, according to the previous owner, who made no profit by giving it to me. A tiny part of the circuit-board did get slightly peeled when pushing one capacitor in, but only about 3mm across, affecting two small strips of whatever those little chrome strips are, but I soldered it back down.. I may have also re-attached the large Capacitor, and in folding it back down, had to force it.. could this have internally damaged it easily? This is the first time I've done anything like this, but I have followed a tutorial and learned the correct technique for soldering. Does anyone have any ideas what else it could be? The fuse looks fine. The power cable works in other monitors. I hear a little crackling if slowly pulling out the power cable as you'd expect with any screen if you listen close (atleast in Australia, I remember being surprised at how much things crackle here after moving from the UK). But yeah, basically the screen is stone cold dead, no response whatsoever..
