Question about Heating & Cooling
HI, the chances of the bag of rice doing anything is pretty slim, wht you should have done is left the battery out for a day or two to ensure the circuit board had dried out properly, then their may have been some slim chance of it working, now thats the bad news, as for the good, their isnt much good news im afraid.
Give the bag of rice a go, i know what your trying to do by using the rice, your trying to draw ouw any damp out of the phone, but the problem is the phone has more thant likely dried out completely and when it has dried it has corroded where the buttons press on the circuit board causing a short, whitch is why the buttons are pressing on their own.
The good news is your bb switches on and is working so that is the good news, how ever to get the contacts sorted out for the buttons and track ball your going to need to take your blackberry into a phone shop and ask them to give it a good clean for you, the phone shop have a product called flux that will clean all the corrosion off the circuit board contacts and you should find this will solve your problem.
It sounds to me like you wont need any parts that it unless your speaker or mic no longer work, as the rest of the phone works you should be ok and should get away with just having someone clean it properly for you.
their will be a small charge for this and it will solve your problem so give the rice a couple of hours and if by some small miracle it works then you should have no problems how ever the chances are your going to have the same problem. So find yourself a small independant phone shop as these will charge you a lot less than bigger well known shops, tell them your problem and say you have been told that it should work as long as the contacts on the board have been cleaned.
Once you have had it cleaned it will be working and you can use it as normal,if the rice makes no difference then leave the phone off as the chances are you could short something out if you leave it on for to long and this could destroy the phone or cost you a fortune in parts and labour charges.
Im sorry their is no simple fix for your blackberry but it is going to be a case of a good internal clean of the circuit board and contacts and then your bb should be back to normal and in your hands again, giving you your daily bb fix again, lol
let me know if you need further advice or help ok and ill do my best to assist you further ok
