The exact procedure depends on dryer type and model number. Before replacing the thermistor, check and eventually replace the thermal fuse.
If you get error TS, read if thermistor has continuity.
On Samsung dryers the thermistor is usually located in the blower unit.
Here two different service manuals:

To locate the part I will need the complete model number, as printed on service tag.

Alternatively enter the model number on the websites listed in the page linked below:

Where do I find parts and diagrams?

can you tell me where to find the fuse so that I can check to see if it is blown?

The thermal fuse is usully located on the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel.

If you give me model number I may be able to find part and give you the diagram.

Thanks for providing model number. Now I can be more specific.

There is no thermal fuse in this dryer. There are two thermostats and one high limit that will break when overheating. This units are located in the Blower/Heating group. One thermostat is located on the exhaust.

I could not find any diagram for this specific model. I think diagram is similar to the Maytag below:

    Thermostats are parts 2, 21, 23.

In your Samsung there is an high limit still in the heating group.

The job is done removing the thermostats and reading if they have continuity (circuit is closed) with the aid of a multimeter set on Ohms, at Rx1.

This is how a thermostat looks like, colors may be different:

Testing and replacing the thermostats it is not the same as replacing a fuse. The job must be done by a trained person.

This appliance is also fairly new, as first step I suggest calling the Samsung number listed on the use and care manual to verify if you still have some warranty on parts or parts and labour, or to get a quote on repair.

    Here all the parts involved.

    Here a manual.

What does E3 mean on my Samsung dryer

For most Samsung dryers, an E3 error could mean that the dryer tub is too heavy, the vent is clogged, the thermistor is faulty, the control unit is faulty, or that there is a loose wire at the main control unit.

If you were drying a very heavy item or too many articles, try a smaller load. Check the dryer vent to make sure that it isn't blocked or clogged with lint. (I've seen the flap on a vent shift and fail to swivel properly.) Next unplug the dryer and pull it forward. Remove the back from the top (control area) and check that the wiring harnesses are fully seated. You may want to check for corrosion or damaged wires. Next check the resistance of the thermistor (mounted on the blower wheel). (Assuming a room temperature environment, the resistance should be ~6 kilo ohms.) If the thermistor is faulty, it needs to be replaced. If the above steps don't solve the problem, then the control unit needs to be replaced. has the parts breakdown and many parts are available.

If the dryer is still under warranty, contact Samsung for the repair. I hope this helps.

WHAT DOES ts error code on a samsung dryer

A ts error means that there is either a thermistor short or the vent is blocked. First check the entire dryer vent from the dryer to the outlet. Clean any lint build up and make sure that the vent isn't constricted around any objects if you have flexible ducting. Check that the flap hasn't shifted to block the vent outlet. (I've seen this a few times.)

If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the thermistor. It's part 7 on this diagram: . If your dryer is still under warranty, contact Samsung for the repair.

I hope this helps.

Have a Samsung gas dryer, power comes on and panel lights up. push start button and lights come on but nothing happens, dryer won't start???

What is the model number for the samsung dryer? Usually when this happens there are small thermistors that act as safety devices in the dryer that will prevent the unit from running. For example there is a hi and low limit thermistor that if either will faulty the unit would not run at all the lights would come on but the unit would not run to prevent the unit from getting to hot. Message me back your model number and I will find your schematic showing the thermistors in your unit. You would have to check these thermistors with a multimeter and perform continutity tests on them to assure that they are functioning properly. I await your reply Thanks Rick

I have a Samsung Gas dryer DV337AGW/XAA. I have an error code that looks like a capital E with the top bar left off and 5. Went through the troubleshooting check list and no fix.

The error code is actually tS which means thermistor short circuit is sensed. The thermistor is located located on the blower housing and it requires the removal of the front panel to access it. Check for clogged lint screen and restricted vent system if the thermistor is found shorted or open then replace it.

Click on the link below on how to remove the front panel and get to the blower housing then locate and replace the thermistor with part number 35001191 or DC32-00007A.

Feel free to update us about the result and/or if you need further advice.

I could not find the ohm readings for the thermistor for a DV293 samsung dryer. Anybody know what they shoud be at room temp?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Look inside the back of the dryer. Most Samsung dryers have a tech sheet in a clear envelope usually in the back of the dryer. The thermistor values are on the tech sheet.
I am pretty sure this is the number for it but.... not 100% PN: DC32-00007a.

Dryer starts then 8-10 seconds later dings, stops, displays code for heater temp.control problem. This is intermittent problem, sometimes it works!

theres a thermistor in the blower housing vent ductwork inside the dryer connected by a red and blue wire and you need to remove and replace this thermistor as they get intermittant from the heat of the exhaust temps, this thermistor monitors the exhaust temp and cycles the element for heat output

Anyone know what code t0 means? Dryer will start but never finish drying clothes regardless what cycle you're on.

To = Thermistor Open error.

The Thermistor resistance is very high.

Check for:
- Clogged lint screen.
- Restricted vent system.
- Check Thermistor resistance.

Replace themistor if out of range.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.
