You would need to use a stiff vent. anything will really kinda work for it. i even believe lg has a kit you can buy if you just call them to hook up for it

We bought the dryer with the premis that we could vent through the bottom of the dryer. The manual that came with the dryer said that we could but talking to technicians they say we can't. What is the real...

The only problem which I would foresee is that you want to vent your dryer from the back,in a downward motion to the outside? If this is true, they are correct. You always want to vent a dryer at least level from the vent hole, but preferably slightly upward from it.The reason is because heat rises. If you are trying to vent the dryer downward and it is gas operated,it will simply not vent well and most likely send the heat right back into the dryer which could cause serious problems, mainly carbon MONOXIDE which is an odorless, colorless deadly gas.Gas dryers definitely need to be vented in an upward motion. That is the only thing which I can think of as to why the techs would say 'No,don't do it'.Also, venting ANY dryer in a downward motion could cause excessive heat within the dryer and cause components to fail. Here is a link to your manual. You do not have to sign up for anything and there is no junk after.Click download, then enter the 5 digit code and press download again. It will open a menu.If you want to save it permananetly click save.It will most likely save to your documents folder. For 1 time use click run.You may want to save this site for future reference also.It is excellent and has a wide variety of electronics.I used this manual for reference to your make and model.I also used pages 10-12 for proper techniques.I cannot stress enough how dangerous a gas dryer can be if vented in a downward motion. If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg

Moved dryer to a new home. Dryer vent comes out of the middle of the dryer. New home vent is next to the outside wall so i have a bend off the dryer vent and then a bent to the out side vent, Can you...

Some Kenmore dryers have a knockout at the back, lower corner that can be "knocked out". If you have one of these it can be vented out through the side. If the knockout is there, a kit is available for the venting. Just go to and under the parts direct tab enter your model number aka 000.00000, and search out the kit.

My dryer does not heat up properly, model DPSB620EC4WW, I have replaced the heating coil but this did not correct the problem. Is there a repair manual that tells my how to check the error codes for this...

There is usually a " mini manual " which contains the electrical diagram and a bit of other information located inside the back control panel area. Before you go any farther though, check your dryer's venting. With the dryer running, go outside and feel how much air is comming out the vent. The air flow needs to be strong for the dryer to work properly. The most common problem causing poor drying performance is bad venting. Make the vent as short and straight as possible, with rigid aluminum vent pipe and elbows. If you must use flexible vent materials, try to make it as short and straight as possible, preferablly using semi-rigid aluminum pipe (the kind that you can stretch out, bend, and it just holds it's shape) don't use the plastic stuff with the strand of wire in it if you can avoid it in any way. You may also have to clean the lint out of the vent pipe.

Can I vent my dryer from the side instead of out the back of the machine

You will have to check the owners manual for actual instructions, but if there is a knock out on the side you want the vent on, it is usually possible. Normally you will need to remove the back panel and rotate the vent and add a lengthg of duct to reach the side panel and connect the rest of the vent.

Maytag Dryer

You can order a side vent kit for it or make one yourself. The kit has a couple of extensions and an elbow that will turn the exhaust out the knock out on the side. You can pick up everything you need at the hardware store but the kit has precut pieces and installation instructions. If it is not a big inconvienience to wait for it, I would recommend you order the kit through a maytag dealer or sears. That way you have the right pieces and instructions to follow.
