Question about GE Refrigerators
Thanks for using FixYa. Remove the ice bin and wires from the auger motor. Withthe freezer door open and the door switch depressed, push the ice cube releaseand check for 120VAC between the motor wires. If there is 120VAC then the motorhas gone bad. If there is no 120VAC then the control board (module time delay)has to be replaced. If you want to do it yourself then you can see the figurefrom the link—
IceMaker Parts Diagram
Figure may slightly differ for variousmodels. You’ll need to unsnap (use a flathead screwdriver in the 2 little slotsunderneath the bottom frame piece to unsnap it) your front dispenserframe#23(From the figure). Then look at your support bracket#15 to see if thelittle plastic pins are not broken that hold ice and water dispenser switchesin place#14. If that looks ok, then you would need to use an ohm meter to test continuityin ice dispenser switch. Please do accept the solution if the issue isresolved or post a comment for further assistance.
