When turned on, the screen stays red and you can't do anything

You might try contacting Giant Intl. 1-800-638-5119,
giantintl@callcenter.com. They produce the radio for Motorola and are able to troubleshoot over the phone or by email. I have read through the manual and did not find anything pertaining to this problem. http://shop.giantintl.com/Manuals.asp

Portable motorola gp 340 can receive but cannot transmit

Don't know your capabilities but if it were me I would open the phone and check the contacts for transmit button. Sometimes contacts get corroded and need cleaning or it just may be no connection at all and a adjustment of the contacts will resolve the issue.

Two sets of Motorola Walki Talki radios will not communicate.

In addition to the channel and privacy codes, some Motorola two-way radios have a feature called Eavesdrop Reducer where you have 3 scramble settings available; perhaps you have this set on one of sets of radios but not the other. It should be something like that because otherwise there is no reason that by setting the radios to the same channel and privacy code they wouldn't be able to send/receive to each other.

Motorola XTR 446 talkie walkie is not receiving

Try programming the radios without an eliminator code and see if they work together then. If so, there is something wrong with the eliminator code portion of the radio. Also, check your batteries, switch batteries between the units and see if the problem moves to the other unit. It takes more energy to transmit than receive, so a bad or very weak battery could exhibit a similar problem. The radio icon will illuminate whenever a radio is transmitting or receiving. When the radio is in standby mode, the icon should not be shown. Your radio with the icon on all the time may be stuck in transmit. Check your PTT button to see if it is slightly stuck or depressed. Here's a link to the user guide http://www.motorola.com/web/Business/Products/Two-Way%20Radios%20-%20Unlicensed/_Documents/XTR446/Static%20Files/XTR%20Manual%20EU.pdf?localeId=103

Best regards.

When i try To walkie-talkie it wont work

They do not have signal to receive the walkie talkie service. Try texting them and telling them to get in an area where they can get better service. Walkie Talkie coverage is very spotty.

My motorola xtr446 has an icon stuck on it and no one else can hear me when i speak out? how do i get rid of the icon? the icon is a mini walkie talkie

The mini walkie talkie emblem has a variety of meanings. If the emblem has parenthese around it your PTT (push to talk) button is depressed, stuck or partially depressed. If the emblem does not have parenthese your radio is in receive mode, awaiting a call.

It is possible you do not have your radio programmed identical to the other radio(s). Your frequency and interference code eliminator must be identical to those used in the other radios. Here is a link to the manual where you can check this http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Business/Products/Two-Way%20Radios%20-%20Unlicensed/_Documents/XTR446/Static%20Files/XTR%20Manual%20EU.pdf?localeId=103 Look around page 7 for instructions.

Also, if you find your radios are programmed identically, the other problem might be bad or low batteries, as it takes more energy to transmit than to receive.

Best regards.

Nextel i850 can't receive calls

  • may be the walkie talkie can recieve signals only to an certain distance,so it may be due to the signal problem........
  • if the reciever is beyond the permitted distance it loose its frequency...........
  • or else the person who is calling walkie talkie might not hav signal in that area.....
  • and if the walkie talkie does not recieve any signal then the receiver component present inside the walkie talkie might be damaged.........
  • and if it does not reply to an signal transmitter might be damaged..........
  • i hope my answer would be sufficient for u.....thank u......

Walky talky

A walkie talky as we called them, back when we were younger - and hell we probably still do in some respects, hence the fact my friend still refers to her cordless phone as a "walkie talky" and the principals haven't changed that much.

The common old Walkie Talky or CB radio use what we call a half duplex, that means only one person can talk at a time. We are talking and listening on the same channel.

Cell phones are full duplex, meaning two way conversation, and this is simply listening on one channel whilst talking on another, so the basic principal is basically the same, just a little more sophisticated.

Walkie-talkie typically has one channel
CB radio has 40 channels.
Cell phone
can communicate on 1,664 channels or more!

I have included a link to a circuit diagram.

There is also two links below, building the transmitter & receiver.

Trust this helps, and please take the time to rate the answer given, thank you.
