Question about Logitech Harmony 670 LCD Remote Control

1 Answer

My computer does not recognize that the remote is plugged into the computer. I have tried rebooting windows, starting the remote in safe mode, etc., but the computer says USB device not recognized. I have seen online that there are quite a few people who have had this same problem. Does anyone have the answer or is the remote done for?

My asus x502c won't come on only black screen with a mouse how do I get it to switch on?

Pres and hold CONTROL, ALT, and DELETE together and then release. The Task Manager will appear - first check under the Programs tab for running applications and END anything running. If nothing there, go to PROCESSES and start ENDING anything you don't recognize, ONE AT A TIME. This will usually release whatever is running and restore your desktop quickly.

If you are not comfortable using the Task Manager, restart your computer in SAFE MODE by pressing F8 BEFORE the Windows start screen appears. When given options, select SAFE MODE with NETWORKING. Once you have successfully booted into safe mode, your computer "usually" restarts normally when you reboot it again. Regular mode will be the default when you reboot.

Windows hiccups sometimes.

Windows 98 system only boots in to safe mode

try this, load windows in safe mode
click start, click run, type "msconfig" in the open box, and click ok
click selective startup
disable (clear the check boxes for) system.ini and win.ini
click ok, reboot
if it loads, cool, if not
do the same as before, but enable system.ini and win.ini, disable config.sys and autoexec.bat
click ok, reboot
if it loads, cool, if not
do the same thing, but enable config.sys and autoexec.bat, disable winstart.bat and startup items
let me know what happens

Starting Windows comes up that passes then all I get is a white mouse on a blank black screen for ever whats the deal?

Try restarting the computer and as soon as it begins to start up click on your " f8 " key repeatedly until a start menu comes up. Click on " safe mode" the computer will try to boot up to a simpler mode of windows. If this is successful you will get windows up with larger icons on a black background. Click on shut down / restart the computer will reboot to normal mode. This is often sufficient to resolve windows start up problems. If safe mode worked but the computer still does not fully start click on three keys at the same time " ctrl alt and delete" when you have the mouse only screen. This should bring up the " task manager" click on " run new task" and enter " explorer.exe" this should bring up your desktop

With Vista OS , worked fine, upgraded to windows 7..realized cinedash/multimedia does not work, but ignored..the more irritant is - when A/C power is plugged in, the computer starts rebooting every 5-10...

Try this
Remove the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and reboot into safe mode.
  1. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Security link.
Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply click on Device Manager and then proceed to Step 4.
  3. In the System and Security window, click on the Device Manager link located under the System heading.
Click on processors
disable all of the processors and restart your computer.

Sounds like the power utility is messing with you...disabling those and rebooting SHOULD solve the problem.

Of course this is just a guess...if you could post an event log of the shutdown that would make things easier.

I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!

Thank you for choosing FixYa!

Can't get computer out of safe mode

From Windows Safe Mode click Start / Shutdown and restart the computer. This should start the computer automatically back into Normal Mode.
Note: Many users believe that they are still in Safe Mode because the colors or video may not look correct. Unless in the corners of the screen it says "Safe Mode", you are not in Safe Mode.
If you are rebooting the computer and it is rebooting back into Safe Mode (it does say "Safe Mode" in each of the corners), it is likely another problem exists with Windows preventing it from loading into Normal Windows.

Problem not fix

Boot the machine in safe mode, then reboot as normal, if the problem persists after reboot did you
install software proir to this try reinstall. Use anti virus and spyware malware scans etc.

Running in safe mode, is exactly that safe while most problems exist in OS.
Let me know how you get on.

Won't boot up, windows won't start successfully

In fact, your computer is restarting by itself after a problem. On Windows 98/2000 the blue screen was sitting there until you rebooted the computer. Windows Xp reboot the computer sometimes even without showing any error message. The thing is, if it reboots even if you select Safe mode, something may be wrong in your hardware (i.e. your memory or hard drive). I would bet on a memory failure but it's hard to be sure unless you boot your computer with a memtest CD, you can find it for free the internet and select your CD as booting device when the computer starts. If you cant do that yourself, you can bring it to a local computer store or anyone with good computer repairing skills. If you need more help with this, let me know

How to start in safe mode

Windows XP and Vista

Using the F8 Method:
  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Advanced Options menu.
  3. Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.
  5. Do whatever tasks you require and when you are done reboot to boot back into normal mode.
