Question about HP Compaq nc8430 Notebook
ou can try these steps:
Turn the computer off and then tapp the F8 key repeatedly as soon as you release the power button after pressing it Keep on tapping the key until you get a black screen that says advance boot menu option. Then select safe mode and hit the enter key ,wait till it takes you to the log on screen.Once you are there click on admininstrator and hit enter key.It should take you to the desktop where you can see the icons and the start button .Then click on start ?all programs?accessories?system tools and then system restore. It will take time for the restore page to come up and once its up click on restore my computer to an earlier time and then click next.Select a date when you think that the computer was working fine and the date that you select should be in bold. Then click on next next to exit from the wizard. You will find that the computer restores and then the computer restarts and takes you to the normal screen. If the restore is succesuful then it will take you to windows.
If it does not take the computer to the safe mode or any of the other options then open up the computer tower?locate the memory card that will be inserted in a slot on the motherboard that is the flat square board where you will find the fan and the other hardwares on it .So remove the memory card and then put it back .Reseat the cables for the hard drive ?Reseat the ATX cable which is a bunch of multi coloured cables that comes out from the power box that is again a square box just to the inside of where you connect the power cable .Among those of multi coloured cables you will see a seperarte bunch of cables that would be tied in a knot and the other end of the cable will be connected to the motherboard .It has a big white square connector so remove it .Check if it works.
If it does not take you to safe mode then instead of the f8 key tapp the f11 key until it says system recovery (recovery is the only way that the issue will be taken care of)click on next until you get a screen that has advance option ,then click on it and then select destructive recovery?click next the recovery will start on its own and then once it complets 100% click on restart and then when it comes back you will have to follow the onscreen instructions like selecting the state timezone etc. Please not that recovery formats the hard drive and takes the computrer back to its original factory settings. So it wipes out whatever u have added after you bought the computer.
all the best
