Question about Canon MX700 Office All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Epson MX700 fault - piece came loose inside I need advice please on replacing a piece inside my Epson MX700 printer that has come adrift, and how to do it. I recently experienced a problem in the paper feed path. Sheets would pass under the print heads (they were inked), but would then become jammed. The jam was caused by a piece of foam stuck inside the mechanism - I removed it with tweezers. Most of it (a 7 inch piece - see images here: http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/9641/epsonfoam.jpg ) came out in one piece, but a portion (I estimate a further 2 inches) was destroyed in the process. The printer appears to be working normally again. However, I don't know what the foam was doing, or whether I will eventually have reason to miss it. It has a regular pattern of ink stains on it (see upper picture) - could it be needed for head cleaning perhaps? I have several questions: - Does anyone know what the foam did, and where in the machine did it come from? - Should I leave things as they are, or replace the 7 inch section I still have, or procure a replacement part?

The piece that you showed in picture looks like it could be your ink absorber pad. This part is usually found at the side of the printer where the cartridges rest after each print job. You can run the printer without it, but if you can find exactly where it belongs it does catch the excess if that drips from the cartridges.

"A printer error has occurred - see your documentation" I don't have my documentation, can you supply an answer, please?

Following the advice to open the glass cover and look for the lock, I found that a stray piece of paper was inside the printer. Removing it has fixed it. Thanks for the pointer.

Ive got a pixma mx700 printer and im getting the 5c00 error how do i get rid of this

Error code 5C00 refers to possible paper jam or product needs reset or service.

It is possible that a previous paper jam has left a piece of paper inside the machine. If you cannot see any paper jammed at either input area, open the rear cover and look in there. Otherwise, you can try to reset the product:

Reset the printer:

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button

2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer

3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. Attach data cable.

4. Turn the printer back on

If all of these suggestions fail, your MX700 may require repair service.

Error message 6a80 mx700 printer canon what is this?

Hello

Ok, the error code you are getting refers to a paper jam, which the paper is usually torn from the big piece and stuck, you need to have a good lok to find it.
Most probably the paper was ripped inside, and one piece is stuck somewhere on a sensor. Usualy is the purge unit that clean up the print head, and it's located inside on the right side (printhead parking place).

Take a torch, lift up the scanner unit, with the unit ON, wait for the print head to come in the middle, move it to left to make more room, and check the right side, inside the unit.

Kind regards
Andrea

Cannon MX700 Output is blurred

You will have to replace the print heads on this printer. They most probably got damaged when you pulled out the paper jam.

Epson stylus c68 paper jam

Hi Guest.

Turn your printer off and load a single sheet of paper. Move the rubber wheel to anywhere. Turn the printer on and watch what happens in the paper feed slot (in official Epson parlance this is the "automatic sheet feeder" or ASF). You should see the rubber wheel etc set into the correct start postion. Then press the paper feed button and watch again. The plastic "wall" behind the piece of paper should move forward, pushing the sheet into the rotating rubber wheel. This should feed the paper into the "ready to print position". If this doesn't happen, it means something has come adrift inside the paper feed system. To investigate this further requires the printer to be dismantled. Either take it to a technician, or if you want to have a go at doing this yourself, post a new comment to this effect and I will help you do this.

Fax not sending or receiving

The fax function is controlled by a fax card on the inside of the printer. Most likely, that card has failed. You will need to contact Canon to get a replacement card and instructions on replacing it.

Thanks and please take a moment to give this a good rating of fixya.
