The indoor fan will not run at normal fan speed untill the indoor coil reaches 32oC. This is done so that a cold draught is not felt when outdoor unit is not running. Check to make sure the outdoor unit is operating. If the outdoor fan is running but there is no indoor fan after 5 mins then you must likely have a gas issue or a fault compressor circuit.

The a/c on heat mode will start indoor fan on start and outdoor compressor starts but the outdor fan does not run out door coil icing up

Sounds like you are low on refrigerant or a refrigerant restriction somewhere...reversing valve or txv.

Why does my sanyo model KHS2472 has a red light blinking in heat mode and a green in cooling mode, does not work in either mode makes a gurgling sound when it tries to run?

Hi,
The red light indicates it's either heating or in defrost mode
Check the outdoor unit if the compressor is running - the large pipe on the outdoor unit should be hot on heating or cool to touch on cooling
When in heating mode - the indoor fan will not start until the indoor coil is warm enough
If the reversing valve that changes from heating to cooling is faulty then you may encounter the same symptoms too
Probably need a Refrig Tech to have a look at it?
Good luck

Indoor fan will not stop

Seems like the fan relay has stuck (Likely to be on the main indoor PC board) or if the machine was being used on heating mode, the indoor pipe sensor may have failed causing the fan to continue to run. Most air cons on heating mode, will keep the fan running for a few minutes after you switch off on heating mode to cool down the indoor unit before it turns off completely. The pipe sensor signals the main PC board to tell it that the unit has cooled down and can now turn off completely. If either of the above faults occur, the indoor fan will keep running all the time.

Indoor fan blowing cold air when on heating

The indoor fan will continue to run. When heat pump goes into defrost the outdoor fan stops, the reversing valve switches and the unit is basically working in the cooling mode. In order for you not to feel a blast of cold air in the winter the electric strip heat also comes on so the indoor fan must run while the strip heaters are on.

Split unit, I get heat but no cold

I have run into this with the LG brand systems. try shutting power off to the outdoor unit to reset all units. If problem persists, it could have to do with a charge level of refrigerant (freon) or possibly a failed control board.

Airconditioner LG LSk181-N2 shutting off

Sounds like your aircon is stuck on heating mode. Or. The outdoor fan speed is affected by ambient temperature, or low refrigerant. In heating mode the indoor fan will come on for a while to sense temperature and will then wait for the outdoor unit to pump up pressure and build up heat.

Honeywell Thermostat

Make sure G from indoor unit goes to G on thermostat for fan continous fan, if that doesn't work and you have 24 volts to R and C then the t'stat is bad.
For 2nd stage heat or aux.heat, on the indoor unit you need to make sure the wire W2 from the indoor unit goes to W2 on t'stat.
You don't need any wires from W1on the indoor unit to W1 at the t'stat because with a York heat pump Y1 is the contactor which turns the compressor on and you will get 1st stage heat, and for cooling the t'stat will also bring on O which is the (reversing valve) or cooling changeover relay for the cooling mode.
C = common usually black wire
R = hot usually red wire
Y or Y1 = contactor
W1 = 1st stage heat not needed for heat pump
W2 = Aux. heat indoor heat
G = fan
O = Cooling changeover relay
B = Heating changeover relay
L = System monitor
E = Emergency heat relay

High Pressure cutoff

YOUR OUTDOOR FAN MOTOR SHOULD NEVER SHUT OFF IN THE AC MODE. IT IS SUPPOSED TO SHUT OFF IN THE HEAT MODE WHEN ITS IN DEFROST. IF THE UNIT IS RUNNING IN COOL AND THE OUTSIDE MOTOR QUITS ,THE COMPRESSOR WILL QUIT SOON AFTER. EITHER THE RUN CAPACITOR FOR THE FAN IS BAD OR THE FAN MOTOR ITSELF IS BAD, IF CAP IS GOOD THEN THE MOTOR IS At FAULT. THE OUTDOOR PRESSURE SWITCH CAN ALSO OPEN IF THE INDOOR FAN MOTOR FAILS IN HEAT OR THE FILTER IS PLUM NASTY in heat OR THE INDOOR COIL IS PLUGGED UP in heat.. THE PRESSURE SWITCH USUALLY TRIPS AT 400 TO 425 SO ITS WORKING CORRECTLY. YOU MAY BE CONFUSING THE ISSUE SAYING THAT THE AIR IS HOT AND COLD INSIDE. IT IS COLD WHEN AC IS RUNNING HOT WHEN HEAT PUMP IS RUNNING IN HEAT BUT ESSENTIALLY not cold or hot if compressor isn't running, but a lot of folks describe the lack of cold air as hot when the compressor isnt running. but it basically is warm or house air temp.you test the capacitor with a capacitor tester or take it to motor shop and let them test it. odds are its a 5 , 7.5 or a 10. it should test within 10 % of rated value . ask for a RESCUE brand replacement motor. they are great ,reversable etc.carefully oil and sand the motor shaft and note exactly where the blade was located in relation to the grill so you get it back just the same. usually they wire up black to a leg of 220 power. white to the other leg of 220 power. brown and brown with white stripe to the capacitor.you can also pull whole fan shroud assembly on some units and take whole thing to motor shop and let them test motor cap, replace and all you do is return to unit and connect two power leads,

Hello Tom ,   I'm sure i can help you with this.... I work on these units everyday. unfortuneately im not there to put my hands on it but i will explain as clearly as possible.    The most common problem I tend to find with these units is that the control board  and indoor fan motor tends to go bad in these quite often.  If you put the unit in A/C MODE  and/or Fan mode and set it to high if it will not speed up from low , then your problem could be in a couple different places.   1st.  The bearings in the fan motor could be wearing down ,  2nd  The Control board could be bad  in that its not telling the fan motor to speed up.

And when you tell me that the compressor doesnt run in that mode at any given time..... which the electric heat and heat pump itself works together so that when the load is really tough  that the heat pump doesnt over work and in general saves life on your compressor.

Solution is this.

Take your indoor fan motor off and and drill out the rivits  and it pulls apart easy, and replace the bearings and grease them.

ALIGNMENT OF THE FAN IS A MUST.   doesnt cost much at all the fix this. Just a little time and bearings

Replace the Board in the control box

This my friend will definetly solve your problem.    These problems i see everyday with these same units.
