Is there a way to adjust the set pin to get a true 90 degree bevel?

set the blade at the built in 90 degree lock, now use a square and adjust the fence (usually two bolts visible on top of the fence) to the blade at 90 degrees....there are some shops which offer this service under a "tune-up" or calibration.

My sliding laser miter saw is about 1 degree off on 90 degrees cuts, how do youadjust it?

Adjust the angle by turning the bed of the saw bit by bit until you have a 90 degree cut on a piece of timber measured with a carpenters square. Some saws have an adjustable pointer and you can now adjust it to point to 90 degrees. If the bevel cut is off, the vertical downwards cut, there may be grub screw at the back of the saw which will allow you to make adjustments.

My blade is not square to the table i,e if I make a 90deg cut, it is about 1/16 wider at the top of the board than it is at the bottom. I've lost my owners manual and was wowndereing holw I go about...

Set your saw square using a combination square if you have one. Then to to adjust the saw to stay square there should be a gold coloured nut that you can adjust on the right side below the lever you use to unlock the saw when setting what angles you want to cut. Either move it in or out to get the proper setting. Hopefully this answers your question.

I bought the 10" compound

I have been in the same situation in the past, with a mastercraft miter saw to a point of using playing cards to get that nice tight miter joint. placing the cards between the fence and the piece i was trying to miter.Rioby makes mastercraft all thought they are a good saw they have their limits to the precisions of their cuts. good for fences, decks, stuctural framing ect, were a degree two is not a big thing, but when making furniture or interior trim work or picture frames or hobby craft you need to buy a good pro saw like a dewalt or bosh sliding compoud miter saw they may cost more **** their worth the money they are very precise and will last a life time if taken care of .It will be worth the money when you get that perfect cut every time you use it,it will put the JOY and fun back in your projects and not to mention qualaty in your master pieces.

Neeed to calibrate bevel stop on dewalt 708 compund miter saw. at zero degrees (or 90 really) it is out of square a half degree.

I assume you can find the adjusting screws, but here's how to measure if you have it dead-on: First, confirm repeatability as follows----. Move the saw as if you were going to cut at miter, then move it back to zero. Now cut off the end of a 6 inch (or so) board. Then move the saw again, and move it back to zero. Cut off about 3/4 inch of the same board (make sure you haven't turned the board over). The 3/4 inch piece you have cut off might not be square, but the two cut edges of the 3/4 inch piece should be exactly parallel to each other. Find a way to confirm that. A micrometer or good calipers make this easy, but you may have to improvise - the key is that your check for parallel needs to be more precise than measuring it with eyeballs and a tape measure. Repeat this a couple of times. You may find that you have to be careful about resetting the saw each time so that you can get repeatability. OK, now that you have a repeatable setting turn the board over and take another cut. Any deviation from 0 (or 90) will be doubled and the two cuts will not be parallel. Make your adjustments to the saw until you get two parallel cuts when you flip the board over. And one more thing! This method ASSUMES that the board you are cutting has parallel edges. If you have calipers this is easy to confirm.

How to cut compound miter on a flat surface, where can I find the chart.

It's a combination of an angled mark on the board and the bevel on the saw set to the proper angle. What are you trying to cut?

Not cutting square

You might have an adjustment on the swing arm itself, for fine tuning the cut. If you still have the manual, it should give details.
