Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater
I bought a honeywell thermostats RTH7500 for a replacement of my old Weathertron (GE) Bay28x139,Bay28x141. It has 8 wires. I connect the wire based on the new manual that comes with the package.I wired the 'B'(blue) wire goes to 'C' per manual instruction, 'G' green wire to 'G', 'Y'(yellow) wire to 'Y', 'O' orange wire to 'O/B'; 'R' red wire to 'R', 'X2' (Black) wire to 'E', 'W' white wire to 'Aux' and 'T' brown wire with no corresponding wire equivalent to the new thermostat, I taped it out away from the other wires. After I turn-on the furnace and the circuit breaker and turn on the thermostat. The thermostat display is in normal mode and I change the setting to COOL. We waited for several minutes probably an hour. That time the current room temp is 84F and I set it out to 70F. To make it colder.I saw in the display the current temp is dropping as the mins. progresses but when I check the air in the vent, a warm/hot air breeze goes out not cold air.Does my connection is right? Is this thermostat compatible with my old thermostat? What can you recommend? What shall I check? I would appreciate if you can assist me with this problem. I decided to replace the old one since it is no longer, I think accurate since it is really old. The furlace will shotdown more or less in 20 to 25 mins. approximately. I am trying to isolate the problem? Is it from the thermostat or the furlace? How come when I put it back the old thermo, it's only in fan mode? I can't isolate the problem bec. the Honeywell thermo doesn't work. It gave us warm/hot air in cool mode. Hope you can help me with this, please. Many Thanks.
You have a control board on your furnace, there is a 3 amp fuse there, that 3 amp fuse needs to be replaced. You most likely touched a wire even by accident and blew the fuse. You will have to remove the door \panels to get at it. It looks like a normal car fuse
