Easiest way to do this go into windows control panel
Administrator tools
Computer management
disk management
You should be able to see the drive there
delete the partition then create the new partition under ntfs
Then format the hard drive and you should have a usable storage device now
Hope this helps

My memory card is not opening

Your card may not be formatted -or- it is and it;s a proprietary format. If you want to format it, here is the instructions (for Windows):
Put your card into your computer (some have a slot or else use a card reader). Right click on that drive after it appears in My Computer and select Format; set the File System drop-down to NTFS (better file storage space) or FAT32 (more compatibility in older operating systems) and click Start.

Pen drive display free space 0 byte and used space also 0 byte

Try formatting the drive. Assuming Windows XP, just open your "my computer" icon, right-click on the device and choose format. Be aware, formatting will remove any data you may have had on there previously.

If you're using another OS, or if it's an existing drive, please re-state your question giving further details (what OS, what you are trying to retrieve, etc).

Playstation 3

Very odd that it will play Bluray DVDs but not games. It could be an issue with the harddrive since many games store important information the harddrive and then read it off of there. I suppose the issue could be cropping up because the PS3 cannot access that information on your harddrive thus causing it to fail to play those titles.

What you could try is backing up all the information you have on your harddrive and then formatting it etc. This should clear any corruption. To test if it is indeed any corrupted data then you can test a newly formatted harddrive and see if that allows you to play games just fine. If you have a spare 2.5" SATA HDD lying around, then go ahead and use that as your test drive (keep in mind it will have to be formatted by the PS3 etc).

Hope this helps.

Vista wants me to format my external harddrive.

Can you access this drive on a non-Vista system? If so, try the Simple Tech WWW site for a diagnostics program?

There are also a number of other software programs that can detect and mark the bad sectors or locations on your drive as bad.

Once those sectors are marked (at the FAT Table) as bad Vista may allow you to access that drive again. IF it does, copy everything available to a DVD. Now reformat the drive but DON'T trust it.

Bottom line is that I personally would not trust that drive again with ANY data that is important to me... I hope you will agree with me. If you decide to use it anyway please backup to two locations or drives!

Good Luck!

TOSHIBA A135-S2386- I HAVE AN ERROR WHEN TURNING ON MY LAPTOP

If there is anything on the hard drive worth saving, I would remove it right away and buy an external hard drive enclosure and connect it to another computer and pull all of the important files off of it. Although it might not be readable, if the hard drive has failed.

If you don't care about anything on the hard drive. Then and only then would I attempt to format it. Many ways to do this. With the Recovery Disc (which comes with many computers), a Microsoft Windows install disc, BartPE disc (free), Linux Live CD (free), etc.

Just let us know what OS (operating system) you want to put back on this computer and how you want to do this. And what kind of Windows install disc that you have (i.e. Recovery, MS Windows, etc.). And if you have access to another computer with Windows XP and a CD burner.

And right now, it does sound like your hard drive has failed. And if reformatting and reinstalling isn't going to work if this is true.

Can't access Hard Drive

what you family member did was create a partition for their harddrive and installed windows into the first half (thats why you can access it) the second half is locked by the administration right on the windows installed into the first portion. what you have to do is get partition recovery software available on the net and at software dealerships. that is the only way since you said that the first part on the partition had crashed. You might also try to repair the operating system in the first partition, that could give you access into the second partition

I am having problems trying to get full amount out of my harddrive.

I would use a "secure wipe" - there are free downloads for ths on the internet - not comfortable recommending one over the other as I am just a nutral tech.

Using a secure wipe will also delete any and all partitions on the drive, then when you are ready, format the whole drive in NTFS format. Then it will be ready to use in its full gigabits.
