Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

It is typing a symbol not on the keyboard. Also when typing all caps it will type all lower cases and not let you correct it unless you turn the typewriter off and wait a few minutes then put it back on.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

When trying to type a capital K is is not typing that but a weird symbol. This just started happening.

The key combination you're referring to probably switched your keyboard layout.
For examply, I use Dvorak to type, but to switch over to regualar QWERTY, my family presses Alt+Shift.
Note, that's because I have it set up that way. Your combination might be different.
Try this:
Control Panel --> Search "languages" --> Click "Change keyboards or other input methods" --> Click the button that says "Change keyboards"
If you see anything other than plan "US" or "English" under "Installed Services", remove it.

It sounds like a keyboard problem, maybe a spill, if so lit it sit on its side for a couple of days it may dry and heal itself, otherwise you will need a tech.

I have no manual to the Nakajima AE-740. How do you

Go to the Nakajima distributor website at www.nadist.com/
Find your typewriter model and you'll see the instruction manual available in pdf format. Good quality and it's free.

The typewriter is set in P.S. mode instead of 10 or 12. This switch is in lower left corner of keyboard.
