Pull straight down on the rope and release. Then bring the two halves of the trolley together either by moving the door by hand or running the motor.

You need to pull the emergency release and allow the door to rest on the floor. Next loosen the tensioner bolt on the chain and rotate the chain around the drive sprocket at the motor until the carrier ( the part the emergency release locks into) engages into the arm that pulls the door. Once the emergency release latches back into the carrier you can tighten the tensioner bolt on the chain.

My garage door will not open. I pulled on the emergency rope to see if that would help but it did not.

Your torsion spring is probably broken. After you pull on the emergency rope, press the remote, that should move the chain and emergency lock out of the way, then you and 1 or 2 other people may be able to lift the door up if you really need to get the vehicle out. It depends if it is a single or double door or wood or metal, how heavy it will be. This can be dangerous and it could fall down on you. Check your torsion spring above the top of the door when closed, if there are two pieces then it is broken (on a single door.) A double door will have two springs, one on each side. One may be broken. You will need to get all the springs replaced, it counterbalances the door. If you have a garage door with arms on it, then the compression/extension spring is probably broken. If you are mechanically inclined, you can replace them, it is dangerous, be sure to watch a UTUBE video on it.

Have i/3hp motor runs but door won't open think it's off the track, how do I get it back on track

It may be that your torsion spring is broken. Look at the spring about the door opening. It is horizontal, and should be in one piece about 30" long. Sometimes 6" breaks off and then the spring will not counterbalance the door and the motor will not be able to move it. If the spring is ok, then release the emergency pull rope, red handle. Now move the door up and down by hand and see if it is jamming somewhere. Be careful not to stand directly under the door with the emergency cord released.

I Have a Liftmaster Professional Formula 1 garage door opener. When we press button on wall or garage door opener, we hear the motor going but the garage door doesn't do anything. Do I need a new opener?

Hi,
There is a rope or string hanging down that releases the dog that hooks the door to the chain...if someone pulled that the door will not open. You need to pull down and back on the srting to relaese the dog and then push the door up to catch the chain...then the door will work again...

Garage door opener won't work

you should have installed a emergency key release !, it,s a cylinder that you put a key into and pull out a cable thats attached to your emergency release inside the garage , right now you would have been in already , but since you never installed one lets deal with the problem at hand , answer me this : do you have power inside the garage ,are you certain that the breaker is on ,did you have any recent power failures ?, because the circuit board on your machine could be fried from a close lightning stike , and i,ve seen it a thousand times , also your capacitor on your machine may be shot ! is your door wood or steel? if its wood drill out a 3 inch hole saw hole on the top panel either to the left or right of the center wooden cross member , now get a flashlight and look for a emergency relese rope , after you have located it,make yourself a coathanger with a hook at the end ,tug at the rope until your able to pull at the handle thats attached to the rope once you are able to release the door from the carriage assembly keep pressure on the handle and have someone else lift the door and when you want to fix the hole you made just simply glue the circle cutout back in place , good luck and do what i say to get in , please leave a nice rating if i was able to help you ,sincerely glenn
