Compressor appears to kick in, runs for short time

On our RV air conditioner, when we put it to cool, fan starts and compressor appears to kick in; runs for short time then stops, and fan continues to run. After about 3-4 minutes, compressor seems to kick in again, runs for short time then kicks out. It just keep repeating this series again and again. Fan is always running. What can we check for?

It sounds like your unit may have a bad run capacitor or start capacitor and relay. Low voltage will also cause this problem. First you need to make sure that you have the full rated voltages at the unit, if you do, then, have the run and start capacitors checked out and the start relay.

If there is no air moving when you turn on just the fan the fan control sw, connections to the fan, or fan motor is bad

My fan comes on first,soon after the compressor comes on, starts to cool but after about 3 to 4 minute kicks breaker, Fan will come back on after reseting breaker but compressor cycles 2 or 3 times before...

No this sounds like a bad compressor....a bad capacitor would just be hard starting, not kicking the breaker after running..

I have my dometic Rooftop AC unit. The heatstrip/fan run perfectly but when I turn on the AC...the fan runs good but when the compressor kicks on, it just hums.

Let it cool off.Install a hard start kit on the run capicator.Its only 2 wires & easy to put on.It should kick over.

AC Kicking OFF Breaker

Sounds like you have a problem with your compressor. If the beaker trips the second the compressor tries to come on hen it is shorted. If it takes a couple of seconds, then your compressor is locked up.

During low voltage period window AC compressor shudders and kicks off, but fan runs, when voltage returns normal compressor runs.

low voltage issues causes higher amp draw and equipment to run a lot harder. whats causing the low voltage problem to the equipment? high amp draw of the compressor could be causing it to overheat and trip until the compressor physically cools down.

Have Duo Therm roof mount A/C. Fan runs but when compressor tries to come on it just has a hum sound for about 10 seconds then after a short period of time it tries again but will not kick on

It sounds like the compressor is locked up. You can try a start boost or hard start kit but once this starts the compressor is on it's way out.
