First, try your mic on a different PC. If it works, then come back to this one.

This model of Compaq PC has always had a little trouble with speakers and audio in general. Try inserting the MIC's jack into the output, and see whether that works. Generally, don't go by their color coding, just plug it into a jack until you find the one that does work.

Make sure that you do not have the MIC turned off, either in the audio controls' software, or the physical MIC. You should be successful.

No mic audio

Hi
cordless mics consist of the following parts:
mic capsule- audio and copression amp- Xtall and RF section.
In your case RF is ok. Test mic capsule ( using an audio amp or simply connect it momentarily to a 1.5 vollt battery and listen for a "khesh" noise from your capsule. If your mic capsule is ok your amp and compressor section is either damaged due to a reverse battery connection or you have " cold solder joints" on or around the audio amp. Pin arrangement for Front panel Audio is usually:

Pin 2 Left MIC VVC (or MIC Power, or MIC BIAS) Pin 2 Right empty
Pin 3 Left R EAR (or R OUT) Pin 3 Right R RETURN
Pin 4 Ground or Empty Pin 4 Right empty

I have 2 samson mics one usb the other audio the audo mic works well with my m box because i use protools but the usb mic does not how can i use both mics together

the usb mic can't be used with the m box, it can be used as a source in your audio software however. When you assign your audio sources look for USB Codec in the choices. I have a USB mic and it works great

Need to know if we can hook a phantom powered microphone to our shs audio amplifier

Does your microphone have it's own built in phantom power? If it's just a regular mic, you should be able to connect into any MIC inputs on your Amplifier. Otherwise, you'll have to utilize a mic/line mixer to provide the phantom power your mic needs. Then you would connect your mixer to the amplifier.

Which SHS Audio amp do you have? The ones that I am familiar with do not have any MIC inputs.

Hello friends Iam also having same problem with my c772 laptop . I have sound working but mic is not .. I think it needs different audio driver that could enable mic and audio .. thanks

The mic output on the ua-4fx only supplies 5mA of power. If your mic reqires more than that, then it won't work. Consider an external mic preamp.

Panasonic dvx1000a has no audio input, for xlr connector, the switch line mic is in mic pos. and the external mic not work in that camera.

You have to switch the CH1 and CH2 switches inside the lcd display to input 1 or input 2 to control the xlr inputs. If these switches are in int (L) and int(R) position, then you are adjusting the audio on the CH1 ad CH2 dials below the lcd viewer on the outside of the lcd for the on camera mic. Only use line setting on the front of the camera when you are receiving an audio feed at line level from an audio board. If you set the camera to mic setting, and you are receiving a line level audio signal, you will blow out the audio 0 way too loud, if you are receiving a mic signal and your switch is set to line, you will not be able to hear the mic with the audio Ch1 and ch2 all the way up.

MY JOB DEPENDS ON THIS!!! SONY DSR PD170 AUDIO PROBLEMS

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

The Sony PD170 is not an everyday equipment, nonetheless, I will assume that on the Sony DSR PD170:
  • the Samson UHF M32 receiver is plugged to Audio 1;
  • boom mic is plugged to Audio 2; (or vice versa) and
  • Both Audio 1 & 2 are using the XLR connectors.
Assuming that your boom mic is a conventional dynamic, on the Audio Control Panel, pls set:
  • INPUT 1 -
  • MIC CH SELECT CH1&CH2
  • INPUT LEVEL MIC
  • +48 OFF
  • INPUT 2 -
  • INPUT LEVEL MIC
  • +48 OFF
This is of course assuming that both the boom mic and the output of the Samson UHF M32 receiver are set to MIC level. In some instances the Samson UHF M32 receiver requires a LINE setting. The only time the +48 is set to ON is when the mic that is used/plug in requires phantom power such as condenser types. If the mic or the Samson UHF M32 receiver requires power then this should be switched ON otherwise, there will be no audio coming in. Though most M32 uses a 9 volts battery.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
