Question about GPS

1 Answer

We have a TomTom XL and we are having a couple of problems, the first one being when we enter from our home in Melville to Saskatoon, the mileage is 358 km and the time for travel is 5 hrs and 53 minutes. It is a 4-hour trip and the tomtom adjusts itself by the time we arrvie, but this is not any good for planning longer trips and wanting to know as close as possible the time of arrival. The second problem is when you want to download or add a map, the price is in Euros. How can we get the price in Cdn $?

Reading the solution now, makes sense what you say, goes along with how it adjusts itself as we are travelling. Thanks

For the first issue it is just the way they work ..they estimate the journey from the point to arrive and give you the maximum time ...after the trip is started it gives other approximations in accord with the new choices of route and the time you have already done on the first part if the approximate time was on the longer route and the optimal speed and you used a faster one the new one will be more exact in according with these new data..and other standards used ..(speed..limits on the route ...and others )
for the second one ...see if it let you chose the country on the site..this will automatically change the currency in CDn $ if not ..just use a converter to estimate the price ...and when the actual transaction is made the conversion is dome automatically like in a atm machine ..without you being forced to do something extra ..
Here is a converter for to have an estimation in mind when you do it ..

Password issues with tom tom one xl

I got this similar password problem with Tomtom One XL. I just solve this problem step by step under the following ways.

1. Connect One XL to TomTom Home in your computer using USB cable and switch on ONE XL. (Click YES to connect each other)
2a. Click "Manage my ONE XL"
2b. Click "Items on device" tag.
3. Now you can see all of the data in your device and click "Applications".
4. Click inside the check box and click "Copy items to computer".
(This step is back up for just incase)
5. After Backing up your applications, then Click "Applications" check box and click "Remove from device".
6. After removing applications, unplug from computer and switch off ONE XL.
7. Connect ONE XL and computer again and switch on your ONE XL.
8. TOMTOM Home will search your applications in your device. Finally it will automatically download and installed the new applications. (There will be 4 times installation and the device will restart itself. At this step, you need to touch "Yes" on your device to connect the device and computer.)
9. After installation completed, your device looks like newly come out from the factory.
10. Set up Language, Time, and so on and ready to use.

Enjoy it
