2 year old, well maintained Myo XP that has never been submerged or been seriously soaked. Yesterday, I turned it on and 1 second later it went out. Batteries are good. Wiring solid. No battery level...

Its a bit late now i know ; although somebody may get some use out of the information 'that' the 'myo xp' has a manufacturers warranty of 36 months (3 years),
mine has gone the same way after 18 months so its about to go ,back to its roots !

What to do if your player falls in water

Once player falls into water, try to access the battery and remove it.

Loose the player with a screw driver and dismantle the components inside. Use heat or bulb to dry the component.

After heating, allow it to cool before you couple it back and leave it for a while before you put it back on. Make sure there is no trace of water after drying. The reason for drying is to make sure there is no water on the panel. And it is advice able to dry immediately so that the panel would not get rust.

You don't need to dry the battery with heat, you can just clean it with a dry cloth.

Best wishes.

Petzl Tikka switch is not working properly. Light not steady.

Would you describe the light as flickering and fading perhaps? Are you using rechargable or Lithium batteries?

Here's an excerpt from a Petzl alert put out a couple of years ago. It may shed some light on your problem..

LED light sources are susceptible to being damaged by the use of lithium batteries due to the different characteristics of lithium batteries in discharge. This has meant that some people have had problems with their headtorches failing when using such batteries... Petzl have reported this problem and other manufacturers are expected to follow suit. However this does not affect all head torches...

There are problems being reported over the LED lamps in certain headtorches when used with lithium batteries. Incandescent bulbs will also suffer a reduced burn-time when used with lithium batteries although this is less severe.
This is because the lithium batteries have a higher output during discharge.
The benefits of a lithium battery are the increased burn time, especially at low temperatures over the traditional alkaline batery.
LR6 or AA and LR03 or AAA are the two size of battery litkely to be used in a headlamp.
Petzl are one of the few manufacturers to advise on this at the moment. Other manufacturers products will also be affected.
The following Petzl headlamps should not be used with lithium batteries:
  • MYO range: MYOLITE 3 / MYO 3 noir / MYO XP.
  • DUO range: DUO LED 5.
  • DUO LED 3.

Yes, you can. In fact, you can actually clean the circuit board with DISTILLED water and then dry it with a hair dryer or leave it in hot sunlight. (No guarantee that the unit is still functional.)

Please Tell me, ASUS P4S8X-MX Problemn

First of all, try to reseat all the cables inside your computer just make sure there aren't any loose connections.

If that doesn't work you will have to reset your BIOS. (Follow the instructions in your motherboard manual.)

If even after resetting the BIOS the problem is not solved, you may have to replace your CMOS Battery.

Dawn in the Jet Dry Dispenser

It may not hurt the machine, but it leaves soap on the clean dishes. You can't really remove the reservoir without dismantling the entire door. it's pretty straightforward, but takes a little time and effort. If you're not prepared to dismantle the door to get to the reservoir, you -could- try cleaning/rinsing it out with a turkey baster and a small diameter piece of plastic tubing. Just suck everything out, then fill it with rinse water and suck that out as well. But you'd have to fill it with rinse water over a dozen times to really get it clean. Hope that helps. ;)

On the whole, I'd advise against dismantling binoculars yourself. Unlike most other optical devices, alignement is really important because you need to feed the same image into both eyes. If you're going to end up paying someone to realign the instrument, you might as well get them to do the cleaning at the same time. A.
